BRIDES (NBC, New!) - Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa ("Looking") has received a pilot production commitment from the Peacock for a new drama billed as "a sexy reimagining of Dracula as a family drama with a trio of strong, diverse female leads, a show about empowered women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy - and their non-traditional family." Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions is behind the hour with the company's Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter also executive producing. (Deadline.com)


MARK & RUSSELL'S WILD RIDE (Disney XD, New!) - Joey Bragg and Sean Giambrone are set to star in a new original movie at the cable channel which follows "Mark (Bragg) during that dream moment when Ashley, the most popular girl in his class, asks him to drive her to an exclusive pool party. Mark's excitement comes to a quick halt when he comes down from cloud nine and remembers one minor detail - he doesn't have his driver's license. He's tried five times and five times has failed. He needs to make this happen now! And so the wild ride begins." Giambrone plays Russell, "Mark's vertically challenged best friend." Chris Gauthier, Nicole Muñoz, Tiera Skovbye and Kurt Ostlund also star. MarVista Entertainment and Two 4 the Money Media are behind the project, which was directed by Jon Rosenbaum from a script by Matt Flanagan and David McHugh. Fernando Szew, Robyn Snyder, Kim Arnott, Ivan Hayden, Larry Grimaldi and Gaylyn Fraiche are the executive producers with Ian Smith serving as a producer. (Deadline.com)


STRANGER THINGS (Netflix; W/D: Matt Duffer & Ross Duffer) - Cara Buono and Ross Partridge have both signed onto the upcoming drama, in which a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family, and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces, and one very strange little girl. She'll play Karen, "the mom of Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Nancy (Natalia Dyer), two of the kids on the search for the missing boy"; while he's set as Lonnie, "the disgruntled albeit charming ex-husband of Joyce (Winona Ryder)." Caleb McLaughlin, Charlie Heaton, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, Millie Brown and Noah Schnapp also star. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED GLORIA ALLRED PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Deborah Schoeneman ("The Newsroom") is developing a new drama at the Eye inspired by the life of famed feminist lawyer Gloria Allred. The project, which is set up at CBS Television Studios, revolves around "a fearless, outspoken attorney who takes on the toughest civil rights cases and is masterful at using the media to get justice." Schoeneman and Allred then will executive produce with Principato-Young Entertainment's Peter Principato and Paul Young. (Deadline.com)
