FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA TO VISIT CBS's "THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT," MONDAY, SEPT. 28
First Lady Michelle Obama will visit THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT Monday, Sept. 28 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
"It's always an honor to have the First Lady," said Stephen Colbert. "Better than that, it's always fun!"
The First Lady will highlight "Let Girls Learn," an initiative that seeks to help the more than 62 million girls around the world, half of whom are adolescent, attend school and complete their educations. Launched by the President and First Lady Michelle Obama, "Let Girls Learn" champions community-driven solutions and public-private partnerships to help reduce the barriers that prevent adolescent girls from achieving their full potential.
Also, the First Lady will highlight her "Reach Higher" initiative, an effort to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing their higher education, whether at a professional training program, a community college, or a four-year college or university. The First Lady's "Reach Higher" initiative aims to rally the country around the importance of post-secondary education by exposing students to college and career opportunities, making financial aid and college affordability a reality, and inspiring and supporting academic and summer planning.
THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT, a production of The Late Show Inc., airs weeknights (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Stephen Colbert, Tom Purcell, Meredith Bennett and Jon Stewart are the executive producers.
