"THE OPERATIVES" IS BACK SAVING THE WORLD'S MOST PRECIOUS WILDLIFE AND ECO-SYSTEMS IN AN ALL-NEW SEASON PREMIERING ON PIVOT ON OCTOBER 18 AT 10 P.M.
LOS ANGELES (September 24, 2015) - Participant Media announced today that the widely anticipated second season of the environmental adventure series starring famed eco-warrior Pete Bethune and his team of extreme conservationists, "The Operatives," premieres Sunday, October 18 at 10 p.m. ET on Pivot. With ten, all new, hour-long episodes, Bethune and his hand-picked team of military elite travel to the furthest parts of the world to expose those suspected of endangering our wildlife and environment in an effort to bring them to justice.
"The new season of 'The Operatives' tackles environmental and wildlife issues with bolder, more unpredictable and more heart-stopping missions than ever before," says Bethune. "I am excited to be working with Participant Media again on this ground-breaking eco-conservation series and I am thrilled that viewers will have the opportunity to take action."
After last season's successful campaigns in Africa and Central America, "The Operatives" heads to Asia with a brand new team including - a former United States Navy SEAL, a former U.S. Reconnaissance Marine, a former French SAS member, and the team's first biologist, Nicola Gunary.
"Pete always pushes the envelope when it comes to conserving the world's wildlife and ecosystems, and this season is no different," said Belisa Balaban, EVP, Original Programming for Pivot. "'The Operatives' are a fearless and unrelenting crew who step in to support local efforts with their passion and expertise."
In a thrilling, action-packed second season, the crew will embark on even bolder missions to tackle human-tiger conflicts, rhino poaching, suspected illegal animal trading, cyanide and dynamite fishing, dolphin captivity and much more. Pete and his team will survey guarded warehouses full of exotic animals, track potentially armed poachers through dense rainforests, brush up against an Asian syndicate, and use cutting-edge technology to locate alleged illegal fishermen endangering wildlife in the Coral Triangle.
Outnumbered and under-resourced, this hard-core team of conservationists is pushed to their limit and must come together to pull off their most daring tasks ever. Continuing Participant Media's mission to spark conversation and inspire change, Pivot will team up with several NGOs including Oceana and Pete's own non-profit team, Earthrace Conservation, to help protect the vulnerable wildlife and natural resources seen in each episode and to give the show's audience meaningful ways to take action around each episode topic.
"The Operatives" is acquired from Zodiak Rights who also handle international distribution and will showcase both seasons of "The Operatives" at MIPCOM 2015 in October. "The Operatives" is produced by AMO Media.
