CASINO (NBC, New!) - Carlos Portugal (Hulu's "East Los High") has sold a new drama to the Peacock about "the aftermath of a mogul's mysterious death when his ambitious young widow and his illegitimate son have to join forces to save his famed casino, while circumstances surrounding his death come to light and threaten to take them both down." Universal Television-based UnbeliEVAble Entertainment is behind the hour with the company's Eva Longoria and Ben Spector likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
FLUFFY SHOP, THE (ABC, New!) - Gabriel Iglesias ("Cristela") is set to write and star in a potential multi-camera comedy at the Alphabet "inspired by the comedian's life experience including the challenges of managing a home life during the few days he spends off the road each week." Jay Lavender and Tim Doyle will co-write the half-hour, which has a put pilot commitment, alongside Iglesias as well as executive produce with Joe Meloche and Tomorrow Studios' Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements for ABC Studios. GRAVES (Epix/Lionsgate; W/D: Joshua Michael Stern) - Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) has signed onto the upcoming comedy, about a former President of the United States. Twenty years after his presidency, former President Richard Graves (Nick Nolte) has the epiphany that his policies have damaged the country for decades and so, with his young assistant (Skylar Astin), he goes on a Don Quixote-like journey to right his administration's wrongs just as his wife (Sela Ward), the former First Lady, decides to follow her own political ambitions. She'll play Annie Spiro, "a top political consultant with a killer instinct who is hired to manage Margaret's potential Senate campaign." Anne Heche had previously been in talks for the role. THINK LIKE A MAN (FOX, New!) - Director Tim Story and screenwriters Keith Merryman and David A. Newman are looking to bring Steve Harvey's book-turned-film franchise - about "the never-ending battle of the sexes from four very different points of view: newly married, moving in, breaking up and hooking up" - to the small screen as a single-camera comedy. Said effort is set up at Sony Pictures Television with East 112th Street Productions' Harvey and Gerald Washington as well as Will Packer Productions' Will Packer also serving as executive producers with the latter's Korin D. Huggins as a co-executive producer. The films' ensemble cast included Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Meagan Good, Regina Hall, Kevin Hart, Terrence J, Taraji P. Henson, Romany Malco and Gabrielle Union. (Deadline.com)
THIS IS HAPPENING (NBC, New!) - Amy Rhodes ("Bad Judge") is back in business with the Peacock for a new single-camera comedy about "an uptight, unhappy, single woman in her mid-30s whose life changes when she gets a new job working for a popular website and starts hanging out with a group of her twentysomething co-workers." Universal Television is behind the project, with Claudia Lonow and Gary Sanchez Productions' Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Owen Burke likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
