Pasadena, CA - January 6, 2016 - TV Land and Darren Star's critically-acclaimed hit "Younger," called "flirty fun" by Entertainment Weekly and "sexy" by People.com, has been renewed for a 12-episode third season, it was announced today at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour at The Langham Hotel in Pasadena, CA. Star and the entire cast of the show, including Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Nico Tortorella, Miriam Shor, Molly Bernard, Peter Hermann and Dan Amboyer were all on hand for the announcement. The news comes before the comedy has even begun airing its second season, which is set to start on Wednesday, January 13th at 10pm ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes for an hour-long premiere.
"'Younger' was a critical success and fan favorite right out of the gate, and Darren Star and his team of writers have brought an even sexier, shocking sophomore season to the table," said Keith Cox, Executive Vice President, Development and Original Programming, TV Land. "We're thrilled with the show and what it's done for the network, and we're so confident in our viewers' passion for it. We're excited for our audience to see season two and beyond."
Season two also boasts some amazing guest stars, including Matthew Morrison ("Glee"), as a reclusive author who lives on a farm, Camryn Manheim ("The Practice") as a psychologist pitching a life guidebook to people in their 20s, and returning guest stars Kathy Najimy ("Sister Act") and Josh Pais ("Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll"), as Denise and Todd, Lauren's (Bernard) parents, as well as Martha Plimpton ("Raising Hope"), back as Cheryl Sussman, the former colleague who blackmailed Liza (Foster) in season one. Also guest starring over the course of the season is Bobby Flay ("Throwdown with Bobby Flay"), Michael Urie ("Ugly Betty"), best-selling author Jennifer Weiner, David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp"), Ice-T ("Law & Order: SVU"), Richard Masur ("Transparent"), Diane Rehm ("The Diane Rehm Show"), Dolly Wells ("Blunt Talk") and more.
"Younger" follows Liza (two-time Tony(R) winner Sutton Foster), a 40-year old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to get a job in the highly competitive world of publishing - and succeeds. Now working under the prickly Diana (Miriam Shor), Liza has to figure out how to balance her real life with best friend Maggie (Debi Mazar), and her "pretend" life with her new crew - friend/coworker Kelsey (Hilary Duff), fashion publicist Lauren (Molly Bernard) and the always-sketchy Thad (Dan Amboyer), Kelsey's boyfriend. After Liza let her secret slip to sexy young tattoo artist Josh (Nico Tortorella) at the end of the first season, she now must try to salvage their relationship, all while navigating a confusing chemistry with her boss Charles (Peter Hermann) and dealing with her daughter Caitlin's (Tessa Albertson) return from studying abroad. The series is written and executive produced by entertainment icon Darren Star.
