24: LEGACY (FOX/20th; W: Evan Katz & Manny Coto; D: Stephen Hopkins) - Actress Miranda Otto and director Stephen Hopkins have both joined the drama pilot, which will revolve around military hero Eric Carter's (Corey Hawkins) return to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back - compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. She'll play Rebecca Ingram, "the blazing smart former head of CTU. Now married to Senator John Donovan, Rebecca is struggling with second thoughts about having left the counterterrorism agency." AMERICAN GOTHIC (CBS/CBSP; W: Corinne Brinkerhoff; D: Matt Shakman) - Virginia Madsen has signed onto the upcoming drama which centers on a prominent Boston family that is attempting to redefine itself in the wake of a chilling discovery that links their recently deceased patriarch to a string of murders spanning decades, amid the mounting suspicion that one of them may have been his accomplice. She'll play Madeline, "a warm, intelligent Boston matriarch who is fiercely protective of both her family and her social standing." In addition, Matt Shakman has been tapped to direct the premiere installment. (THR.com)
CONVICTION (ABC/ABCS; W: Liz Friedlander & Liz Friedman; D: Liz Friedlander) - The drama - about Carter Morrison, the brilliant but rebellious daughter of a Clinton-like political family who is forced into taking a job as the head of Los Angeles' newly created Conviction Integrity Unit - has landed a pilot commitment from the Alphabet. Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper are also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
MODEL WOMAN (ABC, New!) - Helen Childress (Reality Bites) has scored a pilot order from the Alphabet for a new drama "set in the late 1970's during the notorious Model Wars and centers on Bertie Geiss - a tempestuous matriarch and uncompromising businesswoman at the helm of an internationally renowned modeling agency." The TriStar Television-based project is based on Robert Lacey's book, "Model Woman: Eileen Ford and the Business of Beauty." Anonymous Content's Rosalie Swedlin also serves as executive producer alongside Childress and Lacey's daughter Scarlett. K.J. Steinberg originally spearheaded the project's development. UNTITLED KEVIN JAMES PROJECT (CBS/CTS/Sony; W: Bruce Helford, Kevin James & Rock Reuben; D: TBA) - Taylor Spreitler ("Melissa & Joey") has signed onto the Kevin James-led multi-camera comedy, about a newly retired police officer looking forward to spending more quality time with his wife and three kids only to discover he faces much tougher challenges at home than he ever did on the streets. She'll play Kendra, "James' once over-achieving, people-pleasing, daddy's girl whose been radicalized by college and now has her own independence and point of view." (Deadline.com)
