LIFETIME'S "PROJECT RUNWAY JUNIOR" CROWNS YOUNGEST WINNER IN FRANCHISE HISTORY
LOS ANGELES, CA - (February 4, 2016) - Maya Ramirez, the youngest designer to compete in the first season of Project Runway Junior (#ProjectRunwayJunior) wins it all at 14 years old. Ramirez began the competition at 13 years old, opposite a group of teens, some more than five years her senior. Week after week, tackling conventional and unconventional challenges, Ramirez impressed mentor Emmy(R) Award winner Tim Gunn, judges supermodel Hannah Davis, Kelly Osbourne, designer Christian Siriano, executive fashion editor at Cosmopolitan and Seventeen Magazine Aya Kanai and finale guest judge, actress Bella Thorne. Ramirez currently attends the Toledo School of the Arts where she strives for her designs to be eye-catching and out of the box.
As the winner, Ramirez will receive a scholarship to the prestigious FIDM in California, a complete home sewing and crafting studio provided by Brother, a feature in Seventeen Magazine and a $25,000 cash prize, to help launch their line.
