HAIL MARY (ABC/ABCS/Sony; W: Brian Gallivan; D: Julie Anne Robinson) - Jackee Harry is the latest to board the single-camera comedy pilot, about Mary Wolf (Casey Wilson), a young small-town mayor who has dysfunctional siblings, a dying father, disgruntled citizens, a nearly bankrupt town and the mafia breathing down her neck. She'll play Nurse Wanda, "the insightful, no-nonsense nurse tending to Mr. Wolf." (Deadline.com)
HAVOC (FOX/20th; W: Chris Case; D: Malcolm D. Lee) - Joshua Carlon, Steele Stebbins and Amberia Allen are among the latest to be cast in the single-camera comedy pilot, about Jay "Havoc" Hammond (Bill Bellamy), an African American, ex-NFL lineman who recently moved in with his white wife Christy (Becki Newton) and her two oddball sons, as he struggles to win the most challenging game of his life: fatherhood. Carlon will play Colin, "Christy's meek, awkward boy"; with Stebbins as Harry, "Christy's 12-going-on-25-year-old son, charming, rap-loving, more confident than motivated, and as much of a ladies' man as a kid can be at 12"; and Allen as Angela, "Jay's well-educated, successful and strong-willed sister." (Deadline.com)
HR (FOX/20th; W: Laura Steinel; D: Jeff Schaffer) - Veronica Osorio and Lateefah Holder have both been cast in the single-camera comedy pilot, about Jane (Judy Greer), who is caught between trying to manage her charmingly incompetent human resources department and Sam (Patton Oswalt), a new eccentric CEO who dreams of bringing the New Jersey plastics plant into the future. Osorio will play Tanya, "a real Jersey girl. She started as Jane's assistant but worked her way up to payroll and severances"; while Holder is set as Effie, "a factory worker at BS Plastics. Effie is a pain, the kind who makes dramatic, impassioned pleas to keep the soda machines." (Deadline.com)
ME & MEAN MARGARET (NBC/Universal; W: Adam Barr; D: James Burrows) - Gavin Stenhouse ("Allegiance") is set to star opposite Stockard Channing in the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Margaret Manley (Channing), a fiercely candid and often offensive legendary actress, and Ben, the ambitious 27-year-old lawyer forced to babysit her. He'll play the aforementioned Ben, "a nice, responsible, hard-working lawyer with a solid plan for his life: make partner, get a killer apartment with his girlfriend, get married." (Deadline.com)
MICK, THE (FOX/20th; W: Dave Chernin & John Chernin; D: Randall Einhorn) - Carla Jimenez, Thomas Barbusca and Jack Stanton are all bound for the single-camera comedy pilot, about Mickey (Kaitlin Olson), a hard-living, foul mouthed woman who moves to affluent Greenwich, CT to raise the spoiled kids of her wealthy sister who has fled the country to avoid a federal indictment. Jimenez will play Alba, "the Pembertons' housekeeper who gets along famously with Mickey"; with Barbusca as Chip, "a supremely confident twelve-year-old with adult-like sensibilities and an extremely punchable face"; and Stanton as Ben, "the youngest Pemberton child." (Deadline.com)
SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, A (Netflix/Paramount; W: TBA; D: Brad Silberling) - Aasif Mandvi (HBO's "The Brink") has been tapped for a role on the streaming service's adaptation of Daniel Handler's book, which recounts the tale of the orphaned children Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes) and Sunny Baudelaire at the hands of the villainous Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris), as they face trials and tribulations, misfortunes, and an evil uncle in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents' death. He'll play Uncle Monty, "who the Baudelaire children are sent to live with." Additionally, Mandvi will recur on "Mr. Robot" as Jesse, "a special agent who is a bit of a dog." (Deadline.com)
WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND (CBS/WBT; W: Dan Kopelman; D: Tim Story) - Matt Murray ("Kevin from Work") has signed onto the single-camera comedy pilot, about Kenny (Jason Lee) and Robin (Alyssa Milano), two fortysomething parents who were wild and reckless teenagers now face their worst nightmare - raising three teenagers of their own. He's set as Doyle, "the Smithers to Kenny's Mr. Burns. Kenny is the father figure he never had and, in Doyle's eyes, Kenny can do no wrong." Separately, Murray will also star in USA's "Eyewitness" as Deputy Tony Michaels, "Sheriff Helen's (Julianne Nicholson) right-hand man who seamlessly operates their storefront precinct." (Deadline.com)
ZOOBIQUITY (FOX/20th; W: Jonathan Collier & Stephen Nathan; D: Kevin Bray) - Ben Rappaport ("Mr. Robot") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, which follows the unlikely pairing of Dr. Kara Martins (Marsha Thomason), a successful, driven cardiologist, as she risks career suicide by teaming with Dr. Lucas Cort (Peter Facinelli), a socially-challenged veterinarian who relates better to animals than people. He's set as Dr. Henry Lowe, "a cardiology resident. Ambitious and always concerned with doing the right thing for his career, he surprisingly bends hospital rules." (Deadline.com)
