DIY NETWORK SAYS "BRING IT!" WITH 360 HOURS OF HOME IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMMING IN 2016

NEW YORK [For Immediate Release - March 29, 2016] Home improvement experts who are undaunted by warped floors, rotting walls, rusted pipes and barren landscapes helped DIY Network attract more than 12 million viewers on average each month in 2015. With prime ratings for P25-54 up 8% over year-ago levels, the net has ordered 360 hours of new original home improvement programming, including eight new wall-breaking, roof-ripping, house-hauling series, fresh episodes of 22 smash hits and 12 one-hour specials.

Popular DIY Network themes, such as home repair, renovation and restoration, are showcased in such new series as Sight Unseen, which stars Wes Borland, best known as the guitarist and vocalist for multi-platinum rock band Limp Bizkit, along with his fiancée and fellow musician Carré Callaway, as they gut and restore a massive historic fixer upper in Detroit. Nashville Flipped features Troy Dean Shafer, a contractor who rebuilds homes in historic communities throughout Nashville, while Denver-based builder Keith Nylund buys small historic homes in need of major modern overhauls in Raise the Roof. In each episode, Keith and his team rip off the existing roof and install an additional story - that doubles or triples the home's original size - to make it a family-friendly option for potential buyers.

Many of DIY Network's favorite experts are back with new series and specials. Mike Holmes stars in the new series, Holmes Buys Homes, in which the no-nonsense contractor goes house hunting with buyers and helps them assess potential properties before they make a final decision. Builder Jeff Devlin stars in Stone House Revival, a new series where he restores centuries-old homes in Bucks County, Penn. Pop icon Vanilla Ice stars in the new one-hour special Vanilla Ice Flip Advice (w.t.), in which three teams of rookie house flippers pitch their projects to him in hopes that he invests his time, money and advice into their venture. Vanilla Ice also returns for a sixth season of The Vanilla Ice Project in April. The series, which delivered its highest-rated performance ever in season five, follows Ice and his crew of contractors as they renovate and flip outdated Florida mansions.

The successful Building Off The Grid franchise, which attracted more than 3.5 million total viewers since its launch in 2015, led DIY Network to trigger Building Off The Grid: Big Sky Ranch. The series follows Jon and Etta Smith as they build an off-the-grid bison ranch in Hot Springs, Montana. The ranch includes a home complete with self-sustaining water and electricity, allowing the couple to live freely on the open range.

Inspired by the breakout ratings success of Texas Flip N Move, which follows an ensemble cast of real estate risk-takers who move homes to new lots, renovate and sell them, DIY Network branches out with two new series: Louisiana Flip N Move, where teams move houses across the Mississippi River on barges, and Alaska Flip N Move, in which houses are moved across the frozen lakes and icy roads. The network also picked up Maine Cabin Masters, a new series that stars a group of builders based in northern Maine who renovate old lakeside cabins.

DIY Network's more than 22 returning hits include: Barnwood Builders (Mark Bowe); Salvage Dawgs; Treehouse Guys; Building Alaska; and Yard Crashers (Chris Lambton).

"We can dig a little deeper into the process of home renovation on DIY Network," said John Feld, senior vice president of programming for HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country. "'Dirty' is a beautiful word on this network and viewers come in droves to experience the passion, dedication and love of the craft that they find on DIY Network."
