OVATION TV TO PREMIERE SEASON TWO OF "RAIDERS OF THE LOST ART" ON MAY 11

Critically-Acclaimed Art Crime and Investigation Series Returns

SANTA MONICA, CA - April 6, 2016 After a successful co-production partnership in 2014, Ovation TV and 3DD Productions have reunited for another season of Raiders for the Lost Art. Season Two will debut on Wednesday, May 11 at 10pm ET and will continue the series' historical tour of some of the world's greatest art crimes and mysteries. Episodes will air back-to-back each Wednesday night for six weeks.

Throughout history, some of the world's most amazing works of art have simply disappeared. Through re-enactments, rare archival footage, and expert commentary Raiders of the Lost Art will explore how these treasures were looted, stolen or vanished into archives. Some have been recovered, but many more are still waiting to be found.

Here are the topics covered in Season Two of Raiders of the Lost Art:

Episode 1: "The Scream" - Wednesday, May 11 at 10pm ET

One of the world's most-famous works of art has been stolen on numerous occasions. Thieves in 1994 left a message saying only 'thanks for the poor security.'

Episode 2: "Portrait of Adele" - Wednesday, May 11 at 10:30pm ET

Painted during Vienna's cultural heyday, Gustav Klimt's "Portrait of Adele" was confiscated by the Nazis during WWII. Adele's niece fought for decades to regain the painting seized from the Nazis, who didn't want people to know its subject was Jewish.

Episode 3: "Lady with an Ermine" - Wednesday, May 18 at 10pm ET

Lost for centuries, this masterpiece has revealed the workings of the ultimate genius, Leonardo Da Vinci.

Episode 4: "Self Portraits" - Wednesday, May 18 at 10:30pm ET

Spanning Rembrandt's entire adult life, these self-portraits have been scattered across the globe and had a life and history all their own.

Episode 5: "Opening of the Fifth Seal" - Wednesday, May 25 at 10pm ET

An artist so ahead of his time, it took centuries for the Impressionists to rediscover the brilliance of El Greco. Was this particular picture the inspiration behind Picasso's masterpiece Les Demoiselles d'Avignon?

Episode 6: "Impression, Sunrise" - Wednesday, May 25 at 10:30pm ET

It is the painting that started a whole movement: Impressionism. Claude Monet's famous painting was stolen in 1985 and was missing for five years.

Episode 7: "Il Spasimo" - Wednesday, June 1 at 10pm ET

Painted for a Sicilian monastery, the boat it was transported on sunk in a storm. However it was miraculously recovered and then later stolen by Napoleon.

Episode 8: "Ghent Altarpiece" - Wednesday, June 1 at 10:30pm ET

Jan van Eyck is a truly great artist who remains a mystery. His elusive genius has meant many of his works have been desired and stolen.

Episode 9: "Light and Color" - Wednesday, June 8 at 10pm ET

Turner showed his brilliance with this dazzling work. It was stolen in Frankfurt in 1998 and was bought back from the thieves in a curious deal.

Episode 10: "The Sunflowers" - Wednesday, June 8 at 10:30pm ET

Painted for the arrival of Paul Gaugin in Arles, this set of paintings by Vincent Van Gogh has gone on an astonishing journey ever since.

Episode 11: "Girl with a Pearl Earring" - Wednesday, June 15 at 10pm ET

Johannes Vermeer was all but forgotten for centuries and this iconic work lay dormant, overlooked before it was rediscovered.

Episode 12: "The Boy in the Red Vest" - Wednesday, June 15 at 10:30pm ET

One of the great post-Impressionistic works, Cezanne's "Boy in the Red Vest" was stolen in 2008, but was recovered recently in Serbia.
