TBS Picks Up Season 2 of "The Detour"
Network Orders Second Season Before Premiere of Comedy Starring Jason Jones & Natalie Zea
And Executive Produced by Jones and Samantha Bee
Season One Premiere Episode Available Today On Facebook & YouTube
TBS, a division of Turner, is getting ready to hit the road again with the Parker family and all their obvious dysfunction. The network has ordered a 13-episode second season of the series several days before the show's official launch. Created, written and executive-produced by Jason Jones and Samantha Bee, The Detour is an often too honest look at the family dynamic and the chaos that can erupt from not being honest with the ones we love. Starring Jones, Natalie Zea, Ashley Gerasimovich and Liam Carroll, the series is set to debut on TBS Monday, April 11, at 9/8c.
"I'm very excited to be going back to making my favorite show not yet on TV and look forward to making outrageous demands in my rider for the second season," said Jones.
"Jason and Sam's vision and execution of the first season was original and unexpected at every ridiculous turn," said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS. "Having Jason as Executive Producer, Director and Star really brought a definition to the voice of the characters and a realism to this family."
Millions of viewers have already sampled the show with sneak preview telecasts following TBS's coverage of the NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament. Starting today, TBS will make the pilot available to stream on The Detour Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TheDetourTBS), TBS's YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLfBN3pbQgg), TBS.com, TBS On Demand and the Watch TBS mobile app, as well as on TV providers' sites and apps.
The Detour is executive produced by Jason Jones, Samantha Bee, Brennan Shroff and Tony Hernandez.
