Brand-New TV Series-Inspired Global App OctoPie Featured in Special Available Now

Nick Amplifies STEM and Coding Education Through Partnerships

Nickelodeon's hit series Game Shakers is teaming-up with Girls Who Code, a national nonprofit organization that works to close the gender gap in computing fields, for an all-new episode, debuting Saturday, May 21, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT). In the one-hour special, "Revenge @ Tech Fest," the Game Shakers team prep for Tech Fest, a technology convention in Brooklyn, to showcase their new game OctoPie. When an enemy from the past resurfaces at the event to seek vengeance, the crew needs to enlist the Girls Who Code to help defeat it.

Available now, fans can download and play OctoPie, the first 3D game and latest Game Shakers app inspired by the TV series, and featured in the one-hour special. The game challenges players to guide a pizza-delivering octopus up and down a New York high-rise building, while flinging pizzas through open windows, avoiding obstacles and collecting tips along the way. OctoPie marks the third game from the TV series to reach #1 among free apps in the App Store Kids category, and is available now on the App Store, Google Play and Fire tablets. Sky Whale was the first app to launch in conjunction with the series premiere in 2015, followed by Nasty Goats this past February.

The hour-long special, "Revenge @ Tech Fest,"solidifies Nick's commitment to building awareness around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education and coding concepts. Additional partners include Afterschool Alliance and Code.org. On Friday, May 20, at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT) Nickelodeon will air a brand-new coding-themed episode of HALO Effect, a series that showcases kids helping and leading others. The teen featured in the episode, Christina Li, uses her computer programming skills to teach coding and STEM to middle school girls by hosting fun, immersive workshops.
