Disney Junior, Disney Channel, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU Ranked in Top Ten for Perceived Value among Network Viewers in Annual Beta Cable Subscriber Study
Disney Junior Ranked No. 1 Overall, ESPN Ranked No. 1 or 2 in Past 11 of 12 Studies
In Beta Research Corp's annual Cable Subscriber Study, cable and telco TV subscribers named Disney Junior (no. 1), ESPN (no. 2 overall and no. 1 major basic network), ESPNU (no. 3), Disney Channel (no. 5) and ESPN2 (no. 9) among the top ten for perceived value among network viewers. The study marked 11 of the past 12 studies where ESPN was ranked no. 1 or no. 2.
Among all respondents, ESPN was tied first overall for being named among their Top Five Favorite Networks, and named in the top five for the past 12 years. ESPN was also ranked as the favorite network among adults 18-49, adults 25-54, men 18+, men 18-34, men 18-49, men 18+ who are potential cord cutters and statistically tied as the top network for viewer satisfaction. Among network viewers that are adults 18-49, ESPN ranked first or tied for first for its average satisfaction score and for being important to the enjoyment of cable.
Results from the June 2016 Beta Cable Subscriber Study were generated from an online survey across a national sample of cable TV and telco TV subscribers. The purpose of the study was to determine viewer satisfaction of basic cable networks, their importance to enjoyment of cable, their perceived value, the favorite basic networks, program quality of basic networks and a sampling of basic networks (percent viewing past 12 months).
