24: LEGACY (FOX) - Raphael Acloque and Themo Melikidze are both bound for the spin-off series: she'll play Jadalla "Jad" bin-Khalid, "a bookish scholar who rejected his father's politics while at university"; while he's on board as Khasan Dubayev, "the intimidating brother of high school student Amira (Kathryn Prescott) who is intense and worried as he works with his sister in connection with their plans." (Deadline.com)
BAD DATES (Freeform, New!) - Newcomers Derek Elliott and Jack Donaldson have sold a new comedy to the cable channel which "will feature re-enactments of regular everyday people's worst and most awkward dating experiences." Brillstein Entertainment Partners' Ben Curtis will executive produce with Timothy Simons producing. (Deadline.com)
BEING MARY JANE (BET) - Valarie Pettiford, Ashton Holmes and Chiké Okonkwo are all set to recur on the new season. Pettiform will play Ronda Sales, "a veteran anchor at Great Day, USA and Mary Jane's idol"; with Holmes as Garrett Keswick, "Great Day's producer and showrunner"; and Okonkwo as Lee Truitt, "a successful stand-up comedian from the UK who tests Mary Jane's preconceived notions about what (or who) she needs in her life." HOSPITALITY (ABC, New!) - "The Goldbergs" co-star Wendi McLendon-Covey has sold a single-camera comedy to the Alphabet "based on her experiences working at the third worst Ramada in Anaheim" about "three women as they band together against a terrible new boss in the world of two-star hospitality." Brian Gallivan ("The McCarthys") will co-write the half-hour, which has a penalty attached and been set up at the Sony Pictures Television-based Happy Madison. The company's Doug Robinson and McLendon-Covey's manager Gladys Gonzalez will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
ICE (Audience) - Director Antoine Fuqua has bowed out of the day-to-day operations of the new drama. He'll however remain as an executive producer on the 10-episode series, which launches November 16. (Deadline.com)
MONSTERS OF GOD (TNT) - Kwame Patterson has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot as Oatis: "He and his family are freed slaves, but they experience limited and conditional independence working for Lancaster as personal servants. Oatis discovers something awakened inside himself and goes on the hunt for something beyond a small taste of freedom." (Deadline.com)
NASHVILLE (CMT) - Christian Coulson (Love Is Strange) is the latest set to recur on the new season as Damien George, "a sought-after British director who will be helming Gunnar Scott & Scarlett O'Connor's first video. Confident and by turns charming and caustic, he has a specific vision for his work and gets off on pushing the limits of actors to achieve that vision." (Deadline.com)
SENTINELS (CBS, New!) - Rob Pearlstein ("Scorpion") has booked a potential drama at the Eye about "the world's worst news team who's actually a cover for a secret government program that has highly trained spies masquerading as hapless reporters." Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
TOKEN WHITE MALE (FOX, New!) - Carter Covington and Robin Schiff are set to team for a new hourlong dramedy at the network about "a fun-loving, no-filter, low-rent lawyer who, against all odds, becomes the first male associate at a groundbreaking all-female law firm." 20th Century Fox Television-based Small Dog Picture Co. is behind the hour, which has a penalty attached, with Jason Winer likewise executive producing. UNDER SUSPICION (CBS, New!) - Greg Spottiswood ("Remedy") is developing a new drama at the Eye about "a justice-seeking investigative journalism team that produces an award-winning true-crime series that investigates unsolved major crimes through the eyes of those who are closest to the victims - and who also are the prime suspects." The Universal Television-based project is inspired by the bestselling crime thriller book series by Mary Higgins Clark. John Glenn Entertainment's John Glenn and Momentum Television's Nick Hamm and Sabrina Eisenstadt will also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CHRISTINA LEE PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Christina Lee ("Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp") has set up a single-camera comedy at the Alphabet about "a thirtysomething woman who, after ending her long-term relationship and quitting her soul-sucking job, has to bridge the gap between the two sides of her friend group: those who are on the straight-and-narrow path of fulfilling age-appropriate expectations, and those who are still figuring things out." ABC Studios is producing. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SIMMONS FAMILY PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons and Justine Simmons are attached to star in a potential multi-camera comedy at the Alphabet about "a legendary rapper whose plans for slowing down are thwarted when his wife decides to pursue her own dreams and stardom." Jeremy Bronson is penning the half-hour, which has a put pilot commitment, for ABC Studios with both Simmons, Jhoni Marchinko, Simmons Lehman Productions' Michael Lehman and Amblin Television's Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey also serving as executive producers. WEAVEWORLD (The CW) - Josh Stolberg (Piranha 3D) has been tapped to pen the netlet's small screen take on Clive Barker's dark fantasy novel, in which "two ordinary people find themselves on a quest to find and protect a magical realm and ultimately to save all of humanity from an evil force." He'll succeed Jack Kenny, who spearheaded the script during the last development cycle. (Deadline.com)
