AMERICAN CRIME (ABC) - Tim DeKay ("White Collar") is the latest set to recur on the new season as "a relative to Cherry Jones' character." (Deadline.com)
FARGO (FX) - Jim Gaffigan ("The Jim Gaffigan Show") is returning to the small screen as part of the third season as Donny Mashman, "who works with Chief Gloria Burgle (Carrie Coon) at the Eden Valley PD." (TVLine.com)
FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE (Netflix) - Billy Eichner is slated to appear in four episodes of the upcoming comedy as Dr. Felix Forzenheim, "a fertility doctor to Ethan and Lisa who becomes romantically involved with Max. As Max and his friends relive their college days, he loses his patience and provides the group with sorely needed, sometimes-biting outsider commentary." (Deadline.com)
GOOD WIFE, THE (CBS) - Paul Guilfoyle and Bernadette Peters are both bound for the upcoming spin-off series: he'll play Henry, "Maia's (Rose Leslie) father, a wildly successful financial advisor who is phenomenally wealthy and universally loved"; while she's set as Lenore, "Maia's mother, who came from a tough working-class background and is a natively brilliant financial whiz." Additionally, executive producer Brooke Kennedy will helm the show's debut installment. (Deadline.com)
GREENLEAF (OWN) - GregAlan Williams's Robert "Mac" McCready and Lovie Simone's Zora Greenleaf have both been upped to series regulars for the show's second season. (Deadline.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Ever Carradine has scored a role on the streaming service's small screen take on Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel. She'll play Naomi Putnam, "a proud, imperious woman whose handmaid has just had her baby. She invites a group of wives over to admire the new baby girl, and her performance in the odd ceremony represents her taking credit for birthing a child." (Deadline.com)
HEATHERS (TV Land) - Melanie Field, Brendan Scannell and Jasmine Mathews have been tapped for the title roles on the film-turned-comedy pilot: "the core clique of vicious high school bullies known." Field will play Heather Chandler, "a ruthless, cruel leader of the Heathers who runs the school's popular set with an iron fist." Scannell then is playing a gender-flipped take on Heather Duke, "a bookish, bulemic sycophant and second-in-command of the Heathers"; with Mathews as Heather McNamara, "a weak-willed cheerleader who emerges as surprisingly sympathetic late in the film." Kim Walker, Shannen Doherty and Lisanne Falk, respectively, originated the roles in the feature. (Deadline.com)
MIDSUMMER'S NIGHTMARE, A (Lifetime) - Rhys Ward, Thomas Cadrot and Anjali Jay will round out the cast of the drama pilot. Ward will recur as Royce, "the fraternal twin brother of series regular Daniel (Jake Robinson). The character is described as a self-contained and calm future med school student accustomed to holding Daniel's hand in life." Cadrot and Jay then are set as Agent Wills and Randlas respectively, "two FBI agents investigating the mysterious events explored by the show." (Deadline.com)
SMILF (Showtime) - Samara Weaving and Ismael Cruz have both been cast in the Frankie Shaw-led comedy pilot. Weaving will play Nelson Rose, "a recent college graduate with a burgeoning career as a sportscaster. She has fallen in love with Rafi and looks at him as her new pet project." Cruz Cordova then is set as Rafi, "a 28 year old man-child and recovering addict who is trying to navigate the new world of being a good ex-boyfriend to Brigette (Shaw) and baby daddy to his 2-year old son Larry." TEEN WOLF (MTV) - Sibo Mlambo has been tapped for a recurring role on the show's final season as Tamora Monroe, "the new humanities teacher and guidance counselor at Beacon Hills High. She's charismatic, smart and inspires students with her passion - a passion that can get too intense." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED BRENNAN & CODY PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Ian Brennan and Diablo Cody are set to team for a single-camera comedy at the cable channel about Marion Lolo, "who has 26 synchronized swimming medals, one restraining order against her and zero friends." The project, which has a put pilot commitment, will also be executive produced by Syco Entertainment's Simon Cowell and Adam Milano for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED GINA BRILLON PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Comedian Gina Brillon is set to topline a potential multi-camera comedy at the Eye about Gina, who "when her seven-year relationship suddenly ends, she moves from the Bronx to Manhattan to pursue her dreams." Adam Barr is penning the project for Sony Pictures Television with Kevin James and Jeff Sussman of Hey Eddie Productions as well as Judy Marmel and Chris Mazilli also serving as executive producers. Nina Howie is a co-executive producer and Brillon will receive a producing credit. (Deadline.com)
WILL & GRACE (NBC) - Universal Television is reportedly mulling a 10-episode revival season of the Emmy-winning comedy series, which aired from 1998-2006 on NBC. No deals however are in place with the Peacock, co-stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes or creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. The project recently returned to the forefront following an election-themed mini-episode reunion that was released online last month. (Deadline.com)
ZIPCODERS, THE (ABC, New!) - Marshall Todd (Barbershop) has sold a single-camera comedy to the Alphabet about "a divorced mother of three who moves her family to the East Side of Austin, Texas, soon after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., in an effort to be closer to her estranged sister. Once there, her teenage son forms a rock 'n' roll band, to the utter bewilderment of friends, family and the community at large." ABC Studios is behind the half-hour with Viola Davis and Julius Tennon of JuVee Productions likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
