DIETLAND (AMC, New!) - Sarai Walker's 2015 novel - which "explores society's obsession with weight loss and beauty against the backdrop of the beauty industry" - is being developed as a drama by the cable channel. Marti Noxon is spearheading the project, which is on the straight-to-series track rather than eyed for a traditional pilot order. Skydance Television's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross will likewise executive produce alongside Tiny Pyro's Maria Grasso and Mockingbird Pictures' Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn. (Deadline.com)
HERE & NOW (CBS, New!) - Shane Brennan ("NCIS: Los Angeles") has set up a new drama at the Eye about "after a near death drowning accident, a Boston homicide detective develops retrograde amnesia which causes him to forget the last five years of his life." LANDLORDS (NBC, New!) - Matt Murray ("Parks & Recreation") has scored a put pilot commitment for a new comedy about "a young couple who become landlords and begin to navigate the strange and scary world of adulthood." Said effort is set up at Universal Television with Michael Schur and 3 Arts Entertainment's David Miner also executive producing. (Variety.com)
LOUDERMILK (Audience) - Will Sasso has signed onto the Ron Livingston-led comedy, about Sam Loudermilk (Livingston), "a recovering alcoholic and substance abuse counselor with an extremely bad attitude." He'll play Ben Burns, "best friend, roommate and sobriety sponsor to Loudermilk. Although Ben seems to be Sam's one real source of stability, he is fighting demons of his own." (Deadline.com)
MAKING HISTORY (FOX) - The upcoming Adam Pally/Leighton Meester-led comedy has had its episode order trimmed from 13 to nine episodes. Said decision was reportedly made due to the network's limited scheduling needs. (TVLine.com)
OUTNUMBERED (CBS, New!) - Lucas Hazlett ("Loosely Exactly Nicole") is set to write and star in a potential hybrid comedy for the Eye about "an adult son (Hazlett) who moves back in with his mother and her new fiancé and becomes the nanny to his children." CBS Television Studios-based The Dan Jinks Company is behind the half-hour with Jinks and 3 Arts Entertainment's Michael Rotenberg and Olivia Gerke executive producing and Hazlett as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
RICH FOLKS (CBS, New!) - Ryan Koh ("The Simpsons") has sold a single-camera comedy to the Eye about "a middle-class family that rents the guesthouse of a needy rich couple." Dan Jinks will likewise executive produce via his CBS Television Studios-based The Dan Jinks Company. (Deadline.com)
