BBF (FOX, New!) - Kellee Stewart ("My Boys") is set to star in a potential single-camera comedy at the network about "a black woman, caught between two cultures, who steps out of the shadows of her friends in search of her authentic self." The project, the title for which is an acronym for "Black Best Friend," comes from 20th Century Fox Television. Sebastian Jones is penning the half-hour with Cedric the Entertainer and Eric Rhone of Bird and a Bear Entertainment also serving as executive producers. Jeff Melnick is producing. (Deadline.com)
CRUSADER (CBS, New!) - Christopher Silber ("NCIS: New Orleans") has landed a potential drama at the Eye about "a turnaround expert appointed by the Department of Justice to take over as Oakland's Chief of Police and use her unorthodox methods to revolutionize her hometown police department." Dan Jinks also serves as an executive producer via his CBS Television Studios-based The Dan Jinks Company. (Deadline.com)
DIETLAND (AMC, New!) - Sarai Walker's 2015 novel - which "explores society's obsession with weight loss and beauty against the backdrop of the beauty industry" - is being developed as a drama by the cable channel. Marti Noxon is spearheading the project, which is on the straight-to-series track rather than eyed for a traditional pilot order. Skydance Television's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross will likewise executive produce alongside Tiny Pyro's Maria Grasso and Mockingbird Pictures' Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn. (Deadline.com)
HERE & NOW (CBS, New!) - Shane Brennan ("NCIS: Los Angeles") has set up a new drama at the Eye about "after a near death drowning accident, a Boston homicide detective develops retrograde amnesia which causes him to forget the last five years of his life." Grant Anderson will also executive produce for Brennan's CBS Television Studios-based Shane Brennan Productions. (Deadline.com)
LANDLORDS (NBC, New!) - Matt Murray ("Parks & Recreation") has scored a put pilot commitment for a new comedy about "a young couple who become landlords and begin to navigate the strange and scary world of adulthood." Said effort is set up at Universal Television with Michael Schur and 3 Arts Entertainment's David Miner also executive producing. (Variety.com)
LOUDERMILK (Audience) - Will Sasso has signed onto the Ron Livingston-led comedy, about Sam Loudermilk (Livingston), "a recovering alcoholic and substance abuse counselor with an extremely bad attitude." He'll play Ben Burns, "best friend, roommate and sobriety sponsor to Loudermilk. Although Ben seems to be Sam's one real source of stability, he is fighting demons of his own." (Deadline.com)
MAKING HISTORY (FOX) - The upcoming Adam Pally/Leighton Meester-led comedy has had its episode order trimmed from 13 to nine episodes. Said decision was reportedly made due to the network's limited scheduling needs. (TVLine.com)
OUTNUMBERED (CBS, New!) - Lucas Hazlett ("Loosely Exactly Nicole") is set to write and star in a potential hybrid comedy for the Eye about "an adult son (Hazlett) who moves back in with his mother and her new fiancé and becomes the nanny to his children." CBS Television Studios-based The Dan Jinks Company is behind the half-hour with Jinks and 3 Arts Entertainment's Michael Rotenberg and Olivia Gerke executive producing and Hazlett as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
RICH FOLKS (CBS, New!) - Ryan Koh ("The Simpsons") has sold a single-camera comedy to the Eye about "a middle-class family that rents the guesthouse of a needy rich couple." Dan Jinks will likewise executive produce via his CBS Television Studios-based The Dan Jinks Company. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SALLY BRADFORD MCKENNA PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Sally Bradford McKenna ("Son of Zorn") has sold a new comedy to the network about "a mysterious company that claims to help change people's lives - but in unconventional and sometimes even disturbing ways." The project, which has a significant penalty attached, comes from 20th Century Fox Television with Nahnatchka Khan of Fierce Baby Productions also on board to executive produce. (THR.com)
