"PETE HOLMES: FACES AND SOUNDS," STARRING THE RED-HOT COMEDY STAR IN HIS FIRST HBO STAND-UP SPECIAL, DEBUTS DEC. 3

A red-hot comedy star headlines his first HBO stand-up special when PETE HOLMES: FACES AND SOUNDS debuts SATURDAY, DEC. 3 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT). Taped at the Vic Theatre in Chicago this past April, the exclusive presentation features his insights into life's most absurd moments.

Other HBO playdates: Dec. 3 (midnight, 3:15 a.m.), 8 (1:00 a.m.), 11 (11:00 p.m.), 16 (8:00 p.m.), 20 (3:55 a.m.), 26 (12:30 a.m.) and 29 (10:00 p.m.)

HBO2 playdates: Dec. 7 (8:00 p.m.), 13 (11:00 p.m.), 19 (8:00 p.m.), 22 (12:45 a.m.) and 31 (1:20 a.m.)

The special will also be available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand and affiliate portals.

Over the course of his silly, high-energy performance, Holmes shares his thoughts on such disparate topics as: the keys to happiness; the illogicality of nightmares; being an "easy laugh"; what to wear on a flight; bizarre quirks of language; filling one's "joy quota"; how the British deal with awkward situations; the ridiculousness of porn; and more.

Pete Holmes also created and stars in "Crashing," the upcoming HBO comedy series from executive producer Judd Apatow. About a New York stand-up comic who is forced to reevaluate his life, the show is slated to debut on the network early next year. Holmes hosts the popular podcast You Made It Weird, which features a wide range of guests, including comedians, musicians, writers and actors, and previously hosted the cable program "The Pete Holmes Show." He has also appeared on "Conan" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," as well as starring in two cable comedy specials.

PETE HOLMES: FACES AND SOUNDS, a Generate production, is executive produced by Pete Holmes, David Rath, Neal Marshall, Marcus Raboy, Jared Hoffman, Chris Pollack and Kara Walker; producers, Nela Marshall, Judd Apatow, Oren Brimer; directed by Marcus Raboy; written by Pete Holmes.
