2 BROKE GIRLS (CBS) - Christopher Gorham is set for a recurring role on the comedy as Bobby, "a friendly, affable contractor with a relaxed, easygoing manner and a good sense of humor who hits it off with Caroline (Beth Behrs)." (Deadline.com)
BASKET CASE (FOX, New!) - Carl Hiaasen's 2002 book - billed as a "redemptive crime drama about former hotshot investigative reporter Jack Tagger, who's now an obituary writer in South Florida and a mess, consumed by his own mortality" - is being developed as a TV series by the network. Jeff Eastin will pen the script to the project, which has a penalty attached, for 20th Century Fox Television. Hiaasen and Small Dog Picture Co.'s Jason Winer will also executive produce. The project was previously set up at Spike TV in December 2013 with writer Alex Taub and director Rob Reiner among the auspices. (Deadline.com)
DOWN IN THE VALLEY (ABC, New!) - David Posamentier and Geoff Moore (Better Living Through Chemistry) have sold a new drama to the Alphabet about "a talented female police officer who returns home to Napa Valley to support her struggling family after her troubled sister disappears and leaves her infant daughter in need of care. When she joins the Napa County Sheriff's Department to make ends meet, she quickly realizes that this posh, bucolic, "small town" paradise now has more than its fair share of big-city problems." GAME OF THRONES (HBO) - Mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor will appear in an upcoming installment of the series. No specifics however were given. (TVLine.com)
GLARE (HBO, New!) - Feature writer Javier Gullón (Enemy) is developing a new drama at the pay channel billed as "a sci-fi odyssey exploring the colonization of another planet." Bad Robot's J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
POWER (Starz) - Mike Dopud (X-Men: Days of Future Past) will recur on the upcoming season as Jason Micic, "a handsome, vicious and powerful man who is the leader of a large cartel." (Deadline.com)
STRAIN, THE (FX) - Jess Salgueiro is set to recur on the show's final season as Rosalinda, "a glamorous and tough young lady held prisoner in a mysterious experimental medical ward." (Deadline.com)
TOP PUPPET (NBC, New!) - The Peacock has ordered a backdoor pilot special for a new series that aims to "discover the next great puppet act as competitors will battle it out in front of a live studio audience and three judges who will seek originality." Talpa Media, The Jim Henson Company and Universal Television Alternative Studios are behind the project, which is currently casting for a summer air date. Jay Bienstock, Charles Boyd, Phil Cottone, John de Mol, Craig Ferguson, Brian Henson and Vince Raisa are the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
TRANSIENCE (The CW, New!) - Thomas Brandon has set up a potential drama at the netlet about "when consciousness transfers become legal in the near future, an ambitious young musician finally gets the kind of body and life that he wants. But the procedure has side effects, sending him down a dark rabbit hole where identity, memory and the past start to violently collide." Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's Warner Bros. Television-based Rare Birds Productions is behind the hour with Brandon as a supervising producer. (Deadline.com)
