Strike Back returns to Sky 1
New team, new section, new enemies. The high-octane drama starts filming in 2017.
Strike back is returning to Sky 1 and Cinemax with a brand new cast and new adventures created by the original award-winning team.
Sky 1 and Cinemax's action-fuelled RTS Award(R)-winning drama returns as the section programme is revived and thrown head-first into today's modern world of political polarisation, disenchantment, violent power struggles and fear.
Disavowed and disbanded, the Section programme is restored in order to track down a notorious terrorist following a brutal prison break. Tasked with covert military intelligence and high-risk operations, the resurrected unit embarks on a lethal manhunt that will uncover a vast web of interconnected criminal activity. As the team journey across the Middle East and Europe, they uncover a deadly conspiracy which threatens to overwhelm them all and change the face of modern warfare forever...
The elite team is formed of Sergeant Daniel 'Mac' McAllister (Warren Brown, Luther), Sergeant Samuel Wyatt (Daniel MacPherson, The Shannara Chronicles) Natalie Roberts (Roxanne McKee, Game of Thrones) and Gracie Novin (Alin Sumarwata, Neighbours).
On the return of Strike Back, Adam MacDonald, Director of Sky 1, said: "We're thrilled to be working with Cinemax again to deliver more edge-of-your-seat action adventure and this latest series of Strike Back is another welcome addition to Sky 1's ever-growing collection of high quality, home-grown dramas. At such an interesting time in global politics, this series delivers a compelling take on world events and the murky world of international espionage".
Executive producer, Andy Harries, said: "Strike Back is the show that took Left Bank Pictures onto the international stage and we are thrilled to be back with such an exciting cast and a world class team of writers, directors and producers. With a fanbase spread over 150 countries worldwide, Strike Back is television at its very best, where the military comes first! Our news stars have amazing physical skills which, combined with their military training is going to make the show rock."
