YOUTUBE'S SCI-FI THRILLER PILOT "IMPULSE" FROM UCP CASTS MADDIE HASSON, SARAH DESJARDINS, MISSI PYLE, ENUKA OKUMA, AND CRAIG ARNOLD AS SERIES REGULARS

Production Is Set To Begin December 16 In Toronto On The Pilot Based On "Impulse" Of The "Jumper" Book Series By Steven Gould

David James Elliott to Guest Star

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - December 16, 2016 - Universal Cable Productions (UCP) and YouTube revealed the casting for the pilot IMPULSE (working title), a 60-minute genre-bending action-thriller directed and executive produced by Hypnotic's Doug Liman ("Bourne Identity," "Live. Die. Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow"). Leading the cast as series regulars in the Toronto based production are Maddie Hasson ("Twisted," "The Finder") as "Henry," Sarah Desjardins ("Van Helsing," "Wayward Pines") as "Jenna," Missi Pyle ("Gone Girl," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") as "Cleo," Enuka Okuma ("How to Get Away with Murder," "Rookie Blue," "Slasher") as "Deputy Anna," and Craig Arnold ("Degrassi: The Next Generation," "Heartland") as "Lucas." IMPULSE marks the first deal between UCP and YouTube. Hypnotic's David Bartis and Gene Klein, who also produce UCP's hit series "Suits," will executive produce along with Doug Liman. The pilot, written by Jeffrey Lieber ("Lost," "NCIS: New Orleans") with revisions by Gary Spinelli ("American Made"), is scheduled to begin production today, Friday, December 16, 2016.

Based on the third novel in the Jumper series by Steven Gould, IMPULSE features a rebellious 16-year-old girl "Henry" (Maddie Hasson) who has always felt different from her peers and has longed to escape from her seemingly quaint small town. "Henry" soon discovers she has the extraordinary ability to teleport. This newfound power confirms her conviction that she really was different from everybody else, but it now makes her the focus of those who want to control her. Rounding out the cast are Sarah Desjardins as "Henry's" step-sister "Jenna," Missi Pyle as "Henry's" mother "Cleo," Enuka Okuma as "Deputy Anna," and Craig Arnold as "Lucas." David James Elliott ("JAG") is set to guest star as "Lucas'" dad "Bill."

IMPULSE is the latest addition to Universal Cable Productions' growing pilot slate, which includes "The Sinner," "Damnation," "The Tap," and "Unsolved" for USA Network and "The Haunted," "The Machine," and "Happy!" for SyFy.
