Viewers Become Listeners With Investigation Discovery's Harrowing New 911 Series, "Murder Calls"

(Silver Spring, Md.) With real-life 911 calls as its launching point, Investigation Discovery's all-new series, MURDER CALLS, takes true-crime storytelling to new heights of intensity. Each episode tracks criminal investigations in which detectives must decipher the clues that lay within a 911 call. As the cases move forward, the calls ultimately lead investigators to the truth. MURDER CALLS will premiere on Sunday, January 15 at 11/10c following the finale of IS O.J. INNOCENT? THE MISSING EVIDENCE, then will debut in its normal timeslot beginning Monday, January 23 at 10/9c on Investigation Discovery (ID).

While ID is known for its award-winning visuals, the unique storytelling technique of MURDER CALLS lays within the audio. As the 911 call sets the tone, external sounds begin to set the scene: the creak in the corner, the buzz of a fluorescent light or the whir of a ceiling fan. Perhaps the most chilling of all is the silence that can trail a call.

In the premiere of MURDER CALLS at a special time on January 15 at 11/10c, immediately following the premiere of ID's IS O.J. INNOCENT? THE MISSING EVIDENCE, victims aren't the only ones dialing 911 when a bizarre 911 call comes in from a killer confessing his crime. Police in two cities connect multiple attacks to a whining voice on the other line, but will this "Weepy Voiced Killer" be stopped before another call is made?

Premieres for MURDER CALLS continue Mondays at 10/9c beginning on January 23:

Down by the River

Premieres Monday, January 23 at 10/9c

A terrified woman tries to provide the 911 operator with clues without her assailant knowing she's made the call. The man has a gun, they're near a river and her children are at risk. As they dig into the case, detectives learn a stomach-churning truth about a killer who has been a predator for years.

The Dark Horse

Premieres Monday, January 30 at 10/9c

While attempting CPR with the aid of a 911 operator, a wife tries to save her husband. What first seems like an accident soon becomes more sinister. Even as crime scene evidence is lost, investigators discover clues in the call itself, and slowly they unearth a sick plot to kill a beloved dad on his wedding anniversary.

Death at the Door

Premieres Monday, February 6 at 10/9c

As the only witness to his girlfriend's abduction by a home invader, the shaky voice on the 911 call is that of a man who has been shot multiple times. Police rush to the scene to save their key witness. With an expanding case, law enforcement navigates the possible involvement of a drug cartel, a lack of physical evidence and conflicting testimonies.

Hanging by a Thread

Premieres Monday, February 13 at 10/9c

When a husband finds his wife unresponsive in their home, he makes a heartbreaking 911 call, pleading for someone to come save his beloved spouse. First responders are unable to do so, and the case turns from a possible suicide into a homicide investigation. A missing phone, surprising crime scene clues and a mystery man all complicate this story of betrayal.

Shane's Last Stand

Premieres Monday, February 20 at 10/9c

On a 911 call, a young father tries to explain how he accidentally shot himself. As authorities keep him on the line and race to find him, they hear a second shot on the call. At the scene, police find the caller and his gun. But when ballistics shows the deadly shots came from a different weapon, investigators have to unravel a twisting truth that stuns everyone.
