A.P. BIOLOGY (NBC) - Glenn Howerton ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") and comedian Patton Oswalt have been tapped for the lead roles on the comedy pilot, about Jack (Howerton), a hilariously cynical Ivy League professor who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school biology teacher where he imposes his unorthodox teaching style and uses the kids to plot out revenge on those who wronged him. Oswalt will play Principal Durbin, "Jack's boss and a timid, petite, nervous mouse of a man who sometimes tries to scold Jack and Jack just hugs him." (Deadline.com)
CASUAL (Hulu) - Nadine Nicole, Austin Basis and Kerri Kenney have all landed recurring roles on the upcoming season as Casey, "a captivating environmental activist who enjoys the power that comes from dedicating her life to worthwhile causes"; Ethan, "a wry and self-deprecating thirtysomething"; and Joanna, "in her 50s, assured, and spiritual, Joanna is the teacher of a storytelling class who takes her work very seriously," respectively. DRAMA HIGH (NBC) - Shannon Purser ("Stranger Things") has booked a role on the drama pilot as Annabelle, "one of the students in the town who works harder than anyone else to make the cast of Spring Awakening despite not fitting the exact mold of what everyone has in mind." (Deadline.com)
DYNASTY (The CW) - Rafael de la Fuente and director Brad Silberling are the latest to board the netlet's reboot of the iconic 1980s primetime soap. He'll play Sammy Jo, "a cute schemer who has a one night stand with Steven, the rebel son of Blake Carrington (Grant Show)." (Deadline.com)
GOOD DOCTOR (ABC) - Hill Harper and Irene Keng are the latest additions to the drama pilot as Dr. Horace Andrews, "the head of surgery at the hospital"; and Dr. Elle McLean, "a resident at the hospital," respectively. (Deadline.com)
GOSPEL OF KEVIN, THE (ABC) - India de Beaufort, Dustin Ybarra and Chloe East have all been cast in the Jason Ritter-led drama pilot. De Beaufort is set as Kristin, "Kevin's former girlfriend who now is teaching history at the local high school"; with Ybarra as Tyler; and East as Reece, "Kevin's niece and daughter to his widowed sister, Amy." HIGHER GROUND (CBS) - Kevin Daniels is the latest to be cast in the drama pilot as Daniel Markus, "an intellectually curious detective and devoted priest." (Deadline.com)
HOT ART (Ovation TV, New!) - Simeon Thornton is developing a small screen take on Joshua Knelman's book of the same name, subtitled "Chasing Thieves and Detectives Through the Secret World of Stolen Art." Said effort is billed as "a fresh, contemporary take on the world of art crime. Set in London, the center of the global art market, the show follows a squad of elite Scotland Yard undercover police agents tasked with solving art crimes... and catching the criminals who aim to keep one step ahead of them." Storyscape Entertainment's Bob Cooper also serves as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Andrew J. West has been tapped for a top secret role on the show's season finale. Said character, "a grown-up who is a kid," will continue through the potential seventh season. (Deadline.com)
REAL LIFE (CBS) - Lucas Hazlett has scored a role on the comedy pilot as Kam, "a fun-loving gossip who works with Nora (Rebecca Rittenhouse) at the L.A. office. Working in Human Resources, he has all the dirt on everyone and he's not afraid to secretly share it." (Deadline.com)
REDLINERS (NBC) - Jerod Haynes (Southside with You) has scored the male lead on the drama pilot, about a pair of former operatives, Anne DeWitt (Hannah Ware) and Holt Halsey (Haynes), who get reactivated and drawn into a larger conspiracy while attempting to maintain their undercover lives. Haynes' Holt is "an FBI agent posing as a basketball coach at Anne's college. Holt initially was sent in to monitor and 'protect' Anne, with the Bureau hoping she might be a lure to draw out a shared enemy. But over time, he has come to care deeply for the players on his team." (Deadline.com)
SHARP OBJECTS (HBO) - Eliza Scanlen has snagged a role on the series as Amma, "the 13-year-old half-sister of Camille (Amy Adams). Having grown up in the small town of Wind Gap, Missouri, she lives a double life: as a restrained and girlish daughter when at home with her parents, and as a brash, impetuous teenager when out with friends." START UP (ABC) - Michael Imperioli has signed onto the Zach Braff-led comedy pilot as Eddie Cirillo, "Alex's fast-talking, slick, confident and currently unemployed cousin. When Alex decides to branch out on his own, he partners up with Eddie because 'he went to business school and can sell anything.'" (Deadline.com)
UNREAL (Lifetime) - Brandon Jay McLaren will recur on the upcoming season as Dr. Simon, "an excellent psychologist brought in by Quinn to work on 'Everlasting' this season." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SEAL TEAM 6 PROJECT (CBS) - A.J. Buckley has snagged a role in the drama pilot as Sonny, "a strong fighter combatting self-destructive tendencies, always at the edge of exploding, but hugely loyal to Jason (TBD) and his team." (Deadline.com)
VALOR (The CW) - Newcomer W. Tré Davis has joined the cast of the drama pilot as Jimmy Kam, "who's married to Jess and the father of Max, he's the chief of the helicopter flight crew." (Deadline.com)
