CONTROVERSY (FOX) - Anthony Edwards has signed onto the drama pilot as Darwin Conn, "the fastidious President of the University who is Matt's (Austin Stowell) boss and mentor." (Deadline.com)
CROSSING, THE (ABC) - Steve Zahn and Rob Campbell will join Sandrine Holt in the drama pilot, in which refugees from a war torn country who start showing up seeking asylum in an American town with the twist being the war they are fleeing is hundreds of years in the future. Zahn will play Jude Miller, the town's sheriff with a past; with Campbell as Paul, "a mysterious and cerebral member of a group of survivors who arrive on the shores of a sleepy New England beach town after an apparent catastrophe." DRAMA HIGH (NBC) - Josh Radnor and Damon Gillespie are the latest to be cast in the drama pilot. The former will play Lou Volpe, "a left-of-center leading man who has to discover his own passion, drive and charisma. He is a father of three, a husband and an English teacher at a school in a Rust Belt town in Pennsylvania, and decides to take a leap on taking over the drama department, igniting an excitement in him that surprises him." Gillespie then is set as Robbie Thorne, "the town's star football player, who balances his life on the field and caring for his sick mother at the nursing care facility. Every day he is told what he must do, never breaking away until he surprisingly finds his true talent on the stage." (Deadline.com)
GHOSTED (FOX) - Adeel Akhtar has snagged a role on the comedy pilot as Barry, "a cocky, condescending, brilliant doctor who is the smartest and, in his mind, most handsome dude in the room." (Deadline.com)
GOLDBERGS, THE (ABC) - Rachel Crow and Summer Parker have both been cast in the show's proposed spin-off, now detailed as following Lucy Winston, "a single mother of three who is given a job by her brother, Andre Glascott (Tim Meadows) as an administrative secretary at the William Penn Academy, where her brother is the Head of School. It's the beginning of the school year, and her brother is in a power struggle with the infinitely energetic Coach Mellor (Bryan Callen), while Lucy is trying to deal with the ups and downs of her kids adjusting to their new school." Crow plays Lucy's older daughter Felicia Winston; with Parker as Lucy's younger daughter Gigi Winston, "a quirky gung-ho girl." Additionally, Jay Chandrasekhar has been confirmed as directing. GOOD FIGHT, THE (CBSAA) - Jane Lynch will guest on the season's penultimate episode as Madeline Starkey, "an FBI lifer who is just as quirky as you'd expect of someone who can't be fired. Affable, unassuming with a pleasant manner, she can sometimes play dumb, but is extremely shrewd." (THR.com)
JACK RYAN (Amazon) - Mena Massoud will recur on the upcoming drama as Tarek Kassar: "Like any CIA analyst, he's the best and brightest. A friend and colleague to Jack Ryan (John Krasinski), Tarek likes to give Jack a hard time but always has his back." (Deadline.com)
MANHUNT: THE UNABOMER (Discovery) - Newcomer John Berchtold has been cast as the young Ted Kaczynski in the upcoming drama. Paul Bettany plays said role as an adult. (Deadline.com)
MATING (Showtime) - The pay channel has passed on the Taran Killam-led pilot, a comedy anthology which centered on a recently divorced guy who married young and now finds himself completely unprepared for the brave new, frank and fluid world of dating and hooking up. Amy Seimetz, Emma Duncan, Jim Belushi and Morena Baccarin also starred. (Deadline.com)
MAYANS MC (FX) - Sarah Bolger ("Into the Badlands") has scored a key role on the "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off as Emily, "the beautiful 'guera' next door and childhood sweetheart of EZ (J.D. Pardo). But when Romeo departed, this Juliet didn't unsheathe the dagger; she traded it in for diamond studs and a mansion on the hill." (Deadline.com)
MERCY STREET (PBS) - The network has passed on a third season for the series, citing funding and "the complicated nature of aligning production timelines." (Deadline.com)
MISSION CONTROL (CBS) - Levi Fiehler has booked a role on the drama pilot as Izzy Ryerson, "an intense 'propeller head' who looks like he thinks in computer code (and does)." (Deadline.com)
NIGHT MANAGER, THE (AMC) - The cable channel is eyeing a potential second season of the series. "The Ink Factory, BBC and AMC are in the early stages of developing a potential second series of The Night Manager, but nothing is definite yet and we have nothing to announce," said the auspices in a joint statement. ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Alison Fernandez has been tapped for "a mysterious role" on the upcoming season finale. Said character, along with the recently cast Andrew J. West, would continue through a potential seventh season. (EW.com)
PERFECT CITIZEN (CBS) - Kristin Chenoweth has signed onto the Noah Wyle-led drama as Jessica Ellsbury: "She's the heartbeat of the firm and got her name on the door by outworking and out thinking the Ivy Leaguers." (Deadline.com)
SALAMANDER (ABC) - Larenz Tate and Neil Sandilands have both scored key roles on the drama pilot. Tate is on board as Ethan Anders, "a brilliant but misanthropic engineer who recruits a skeptical Homeland Security psychiatrist, Nora (Allison Miller), to help him track a mysterious bank robber whose theft of 66 specific safety deposit boxes, belonging to the elite and powerful, sets in motion a series of blackmails that might be linked to a greater conspiracy." Sandilands then will play Jack Wang, "a domestic terrorist of sorts, a cunning anarchist with a plan to Bring It All Down." (Deadline.com)
