BLACK-ISH (ABC) - Rashida Jones will guest on an upcoming episode as Bow's sister, in a storyline that "will center on the incorrect belief that the two sisters have a lot in common." (EW.com)
BROTHERED UP (CBS) - Glynn Turman has signed onto the comedy pilot as Frank, "Calvin's (Romany Malco) retired-cop father, who's landed at his son's house where he's crashing until he meets a potential fourth wife." (Deadline.com)
CROSSING, THE (ABC) - Jay Karnes, Simone Kessell and Grant Harvey are all bound for the drama pilot. Karnes is set as Craig Lindauer, "a sharp and aggressive DHS Under Secretary skeptical of the refugees' claims"; while Kessell is Rebecca, "one of the few survivors to wash up on shore amongst the hundreds of bodies that appear one morning"; with Harvey as Roy, "a boyish, by-the-book agent charged with helping look after the refugees." (Deadline.com)
DOOMSDAY (ABC) - Rochelle Aytes is bound for the drama pilot as Elle Trask, "a renowned physicist, MD and author who also is a member of the former Doomsday Project think tank. Notable for her ability to popularize science, 'making complex ideas disgestible for the masses,' Elle starts out with the laissez-faire opinion that any problems people create can be fixed later." (Deadline.com)
DRAMA HIGH (NBC) - Marley Shelton and Casey Johnson are both bound for the drama pilot. The former will play Gail, "Lou's (Josh Radnor) wife, a mother of three and classically trained musician who now is giving piano lessons to neighborhood kids." Johnson then will portray Gordy, Lou's son. (Deadline.com)
GOOD DOCTOR (ABC) - Richard Schiff has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot as Dr. Ira Glassman, "President of the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. Glassman, a good man who wasn't always a good man, is advocating for Murphy's (Freddie Highmore) hire. He has mentored the young doctor since he was 16 and admits that Shaun is like a son to him, so Shaun's appointment is very personal." (Deadline.com)
INSATIABLE (The CW) - Kimmy Shields has likewise scored a role on the drama pilot as Nonnie, "Patty's (Debby Ryan) best friend." (Deadline.com)
JACK RYAN (Amazon) - John Hoogenakker is set to recur on the upcoming drama as Matice, "a tough and salty American who works black ops for the CIA. At first skeptical of what appears to be a desk-jockey, he quickly develops a new respect for Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) after seeing him handle himself in the field." (Deadline.com)
KILLER INSTINCT (CBS) - Khandi Alexander is the latest addition to the Alan Cumming-led drama pilot as Detective Sergeant Monica Hernandez, "Lizzie's (Bojana Novakovic) police superior." (Deadline.com)
LIFE SENTENCE (CBS) - Carlos PenaVega and director Lee Toland Krieger are the latest additions to the drama pilot. He'll play Darrius, "Lucy's brother-in-law. He's the extremely positive and family-loving, Pharma rep who Stella's sister, Elizabeth, met during one of her hospital stays." (Deadline.com)
MISSION CONTROL (CBS) - David Giuntoli ("Grimm") and Poppy Montgomery have scored the lead roles on the drama pilot, about the next generation of NASA astronauts and scientists who juggle their personal and professional lives during a critical mission with no margin for error. He'll play Commander Malik Stevenson, "an astronaut and the Durga Mission's commander"; with Montgomery as Julie Towne, "flight director for the Durga Mission." (Deadline.com)
QUANTICO (ABC) - Krysta Rodriguez will recur on the back half of the current season as Maxine "Max" Griffin, "the intelligent, passionate and fiercely driven founder of 'the Roster,' a network and visibility platform for professional women committed to helping one another rise." (Deadline.com)
S.W.A.T. (CBS) - Jay Harrington has scored a key role on the TV series-turned-feature-turned-drama pilot as David "Deacon" Kay: "Level-headed and competent, Deacon is an experienced SWAT officer who's ready for a commanding role. What seems like an obvious promotion is taken away from him when Hondo (Shemar Moore) is upped for seemingly political reasons. But when he's offered his own squad, he's torn between a potential upgrade and his loyalty to his team." (Deadline.com)
SALAMANDER (ABC) - Elaine Tan has been cast in the drama pilot as Meghan Connolly, "the master thief and anarchist who works alongside the domestic terrorist Jack Wang (Neil Sandilands)." (Deadline.com)
SHARP OBJECTS (HBO) - Elizabeth Perkins and Madison Davenport are both set on the limited series, based on Gillian Flynn's book of the same name. Perkins will play Jackie, "the local gossip and renowned alcoholic - trashy, fun, big hair and big makeup"; with Davenport as Meredith, "a confident and sexy former high school cheerleader who strongly supports her boyfriend, who is a prime suspect in the murder of his younger sister." Separately, Perkins will guest star on the upcoming season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" in an unspecified capacity. (Deadline.com)
