BEAST, THE (FOX) - The network has pushed production on the drama pilot, each week of which features three challenging medical cases. In the end, two will live, one will die. Their doctor - with a clinical fear of death - never stops fighting the odds. Said decision was due to casting reasons. (Deadline.com)
CONTROVERSY (FOX) - Christine Lahti is the latest to board the drama pilot's ensemble as Constance Hawthorne, "the dignified but fierce head of EPU Board of Trustees." She places Rita Wilson, who had to bow out due to scheduling reasons. (Deadline.com)
GOSPEL OF KEVIN, THE (ABC) - JoAnna Garcia Swisher is the latest addition to the drama pilot as Amy, "who is recently widowed and happy to have her brother, Kevin (Jason Ritter), who recently tried to commit suicide, back in the family home." (THR.com)
HIGHER GROUND (CBS) - Sharon Leal and Sheaun McKinney have been tapped for roles on the drama pilot as Lt. Naomi Barr, "the passionate, relentless leader of the hate crimes task force in NYC"; and Michael Sanchez, "the liaison between the mayor's office and the hate crimes task force." (Deadline.com)
LAS REINAS (ABC) - Eric Winter has booked a role on the drama pilot as Robert Ellison, "a potential love interest to Alex (Daniella Alonso). Robert is an Ivy League educated attorney/consigliere who is central to Gabriella De La Reina's empire." (Deadline.com)
LONG DISTANCE (NBC, New!) - Kerry Ehrin has sold a potential drama to the Peacock which "chronicles one couple's unexpected, intercontinental relationship. Despite time zone challenges, FOMO social media deciphering, and troublesome autocorrecting, the show explores dating, the internet, how we communicate, and what love and romance really mean in our modern world." Universal Television is behind the hour with Freddie Highmore and Acoustic Productions' Danielle Gelber likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
ME, MYSELF & I (CBS) - John Larroquette ("The Librarians") and Mandell Maughan have both been cast in the comedy pilot, which examines one man's life over a 50-year span: as a 14-year-old in 1991, a 40-year-old in present day and a 65-year-old in 2042. He'll play the latter incarnation: "Newly retired, Larroquette's Alex has achieved the creative and financial success he always dreamed of. He's now committed to getting the most out of his life's third act." Maughan then is Maggie, "young Alex's (not yet cast) mom. Although Maggie's a strong, no-nonsense woman with a gruff bedside manner, her son is the center of her universe." (Deadline.com)
O.G., THE (A.K.A. UNTITLED MORGAN & PEELE PROJECT) (TBS) - Allen Maldonado has been cast in the upcoming Tracy Morgan-led comedy as Cousin Bobby, "Tray's loyal cousin, not the brightest tool in the shed. He was just 15 when Tray first went to prison, and he's grown up to be a small-time hustler who is always looking for the latest scam. He helps Tray adjust to life on the outside." (Deadline.com)
REDLINERS (NBC) - Jenny Wade has scored a role on the drama pilot as Christy Strunk, "Anne's (Hannah Ware) sweet and overly officious assistant at school who talks too much, tries too hard and wants more than anything to have a rapport with Anne." (Deadline.com)
SALVATION (NBC) - Nikki M. James is the latest addition to the drama pilot as Meghan Sparks, "a hospital administrator." (Deadline.com)
TYPE A (FOX) - Eva Longoria, Ken Marino, Kyle Bornheimer, Steve Harris and Andy Richter have booked the principal roles in the comedy pilot, about a group of consultants hand-picked to do the dirty work most professionals can't handle: layoffs, downsizing, generally delivering horrible news. To everyone else, they're the enemy - to each other, they're family. Longoria will play Axler, "the ambitious, brutally honest consultant who is at war with her inner nice girl." Marino then is set as Garland, "a slick, charming attorney - and total shark - who also happens to be the ex-boyfriend of Axler"; with Bornheimer as Ben, "an Army vet with one leg who is the moral compass of the office"; Harris as Carson, "the security chief with an intimidating physical presence who has a soft spot for his show poodle"; and Richter as Luderman, "a master manipulator who makes Machiavelli look like a sweetheart." UNTITLED KELLY & SCHNEIDER PROJECT (Comedy Central, New!) - Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider ("Saturday Night Live") have scored a pilot order from the cable channel for a new comedy about "two struggling siblings who are forced to reevaluate their lives when their much younger 12-year-old brother becomes instantly famous without trying." Kelly will also helm the half-hour with Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer of Broadway Video likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SEAL TEAM 6 PROJECT (CBS) - Jessica Paré has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot as Mandy, "a whip-smart CIA analyst driven to rid the world of evil and get the bad guys." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SINGLE DAD PROJECT (ABC) - Amy Hill is the latest to board the Rob Riggle-led comedy pilot, about an intellectual but emotionally challenged single dad who moves to Queens with his two young daughters and forms an unlikely family with the other residents in their apartment building. She'll play Mrs. Kim, "Josh's tough and honest neighbor." (Deadline.com)
WISDOM OF THE CROWD (CBS) - Monica Potter has signed onto the Jeremy Piven-led drama pilot as Alex, "Tanner's (Piven) ex-wife who has been making waves in politics, being careful not to let her connection to Tanner impact her career." (Deadline.com)
