THE DAILY SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH TAPS COMEDIAN MICHAEL KOSTA AS NEWEST CORRESPONDENT ON COMEDY CENTRAL'S(R) LATE-NIGHT FRANCHISE
NEW YORK, July 11, 2017 - The Daily Show with Trevor Noah adds Michael Kosta as the latest correspondent to join "The Best F#@ing News Team." He was tapped by Executive Producer, Writer and Host, Trevor Noah to make his first appearance on the show tonight, at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT with an in-studio desk piece.
Kosta (@michaelkosta) is a stand-up comedian who most recently was host and co-executive producer of The Comment Section on E! He was also a co-host on Fox Sports 1's, Crowd Goes Wild, on which he and Regis Philbin lead a panel of experts in a lighthearted look at the world of sports. Kosta is not a stranger to Comedy Central, he starred in the brand's Snapchat series, Worst Birthday, which is based on his successful podcast, had his own half-hour stand-up special in 2011, Comedy Central Presents: Michael Kosta and has been seen on @midnight with Chris Hardwick.
Kosta gained attention as a comedian when he broke out of the HBO Comedy and Arts Festival in Aspen. He quickly relocated to Los Angeles where he began his television career; he made regular appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Chelsea Lately, has appeared on Conan and Late Night with Seth Meyers and has performed at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. As a host, Kosta acted as a know-it-all correspondent for E!'s spinoff of The Soup, entitled The Soup Investigates, and was also a guest host of the hit G4 series, Attack of The Show. In 2015, Kosta released his first comedy album, Comedy For Attractive People. He also starred in and created the Funny or Die web series Sports. Kosta. Basement. Before comedy, Kosta was a professional tennis player, once-ranked number 864 in the Association of Tennis Professionals World Tour. Prior to going pro, he played collegiate tennis at the University of Illinois where he won four Big Ten Championships.
