CROSSING, THE (ABC) - Melinda McGraw is bound for the midseason drama in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com)
DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (The CW) - Susie Abromeit has been cast in time travel drama as Ray Palmer's (Brandon Routh) mother in an episode that "will head to the 1980s to investigate Ray's childhood." (TVLine.com)
ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA (Showtime) - Jeremy Bobb will recur on the limited series as Dennis Lambert, "a corrections officer who supervises Tilly's (Patricia Arquette) tailor shop at Clinton Correctional and is good friends with her husband, Lyle (Eric Lange)." (Deadline.com)
FOR THE PEOPLE (ABC) - Creator Paul William Davies has signed an overall deal with the producer ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
GALAXY QUEST (Amazon) - Paul Scheer has signed on to pen the proposed small screen take on the cult 1999 sci-fi comedy. He'll succeed original writer Robert Gordon, who co-wrote the movie. The project was reportedly on track to begin production last year however the death of Alan Rickman derailed said plans. (Deadline.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Amanda Brugel's Rita has been promoted to series regular for the show's second season. (THR.com)
JETSONS, THE (ABC, New!) - The Alphabet has landed Gary Janetti's proposed live-action take on the 1960s Hanna-Barbera animated series, a multi-camera sitcom which "is set 100 years in the future and looks at America's favorite future family through a modern filter." Warner Bros. Television is behind the half-hour, which has a put pilot commitment, with Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke also executive producing and Jackie Levine serving as a co-executive producer. LAW & ORDER TRUE CRIME (NBC) - Keong Sim will recur on "The Menendez Murders" as Deputy District Attorney Lester Kuriyama, "the second fiddle to DDA Pam Bozanich (Elizabeth Reaser). He's by-the-book, unimaginative, doesn't think outside the box and a lifer in the DA's office." (THR.com)
LOCKE & KEY (Hulu) - Frances O'Connor is the first to be cast in the comic book-turned-drama pilot about three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. She'll play matriarch Nina. (Deadline.com)
MANIAC (Netflix) - Justin Theroux has been tapped to co-star opposite Emma Stone and Jonah Hill in the much-ballyhooed project. He'll play James Mantleray. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
ORIGINALS, THE (The CW) - Torrance Coombs and Jedidiah Goodacre are both bound for the show's final season as Declan, "the flirty Irish chef with whom Hayley will be involved"; and Roman, "the charming vampire who meets grown-up Hope (now played by Danielle Rose Russell) at school," respectively. RESIDENT, THE (FOX) - Moran Atias has joined the cast of the midseason entry as hospital CEO Renata Thorpe, "a tough, savvy, elegant businesswoman, not a physician, gifted with both cunning and charm." She replaces Valerie Cruz from the original pilot. (Deadline.com)
REVIVAL (FOX, New!) - Writer Sally Bradford McKenna, director Michael Showalter and producer Nahnatchka Khan are set to team for a new comedy at the network about Elliot, formerly the little kid from a beloved '80s family sitcom and now living a normal life, who reluctantly gets sucked back into the show's revival with his old TV family." Chris McKenna and Mandy Summers will also serve as executive producers on the project, which has a put pilot commitment, via Khan's 20th Century Fox Television-based Fierce Baby Productions. SHADES OF BLUE (NBC) - Bruce McGill will recur on the upcoming third season as Jordan Ramsey, "a ruthless and resourceful man who runs a unit out of the Intelligence Division. Capable of going to extreme measures to ensure the success of his agenda, Ramsey is not burdened by an over-active moral compass. He knows what he wants, and he pushes the limits to get it." SHUT EYE (Hulu) - Rowena King is the latest bound for the new season as Maggie: "Once a high level advertising executive, Maggie was known for her ability to read and manipulate consumers' desires. She is the backbone to "Psychic to the Stars," Paz Kapoor's (Aasif Mandvi) business and the one responsible for taking his street corner mystic act to its world famous status." (Deadline.com)
THIS IS US (NBC) - Debra Jo Rupp will recur on the new season as "a social worker named Linda who crosses paths with Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and his wife, Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson)." (EW.com)
UNTITLED POEHLER & SCULLYS PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Amy Poehler is set to team with Mike and Julie Scully for an animated comedy at the network about "the family and friends of 15-year-old Duncan Harris, an average kid with dreams of being a UFC fighter, tech billionaire, video game champ, or any job where you make a ton of money and don't have to wear a tie." 20th Century Fox Television and the Universal Television-based Paper Kite Productions are behind the project, which has an order for a script and a pilot presentation. 3 Arts Entertainment's Dave Becky will also executive produce alongside the trio while Poehler also is attached to voice multiple characters. VALIANT, THE (The CW, New!) - Laurie Arent has set up a potential drama at the netlet based on Lesley Livingston's novel about "a Celtic princess on the run from an arranged marriage and a sheltered life who is captured and forced into slavery under Julius Caesar. She ends up training among the first wave of female Gladiators to compete in the Colosseum for fame, fortune and, ultimately, her freedom." Mary Beth Basile will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Variety.com)
