ANIMAL PLANET PRESENTS "SURVIVING HARVEY: ANIMALS AFTER THE STORM" PROFILING HEROIC ANIMAL RESCUES DURING HURRICANE HARVEY
Surviving Harvey: Animals After the Storm Premieres on Saturday, September 9 at 8PM ET/PT
Hurricane Harvey is one of the most catastrophic natural disasters in US history. Floodwaters from the storm have engulfed entire Texas cities leaving thousands of people and animals displaced and homeless. Animal Planet's Surviving Harvey: Animals After the Storm will chronicle the heroic efforts of rescuers and volunteers who lend a helping hand to the animals displaced by the recent storm. Witness the daring rescues, dramatic reunions and inspiring adoptions that leave hope after Harvey, Saturday, September 9th at 8PM ET/PT.
"We are pleased to bring the stories from Hurricane Harvey that profile the incredible efforts being made on behalf of the animals in harms way," said Patrice Andrews, General Manager of Animal Planet. "We hope our special helps to also promote continued contributions to the organizations working tirelessly to rescue and shelter the animals."
By presenting moving stories of animals who have been impacted by the hurricane, the hope is that viewers will be inspired to support the efforts of the non-profit organization, Austin Pets Alive, which has dedicated itself to the cause and already evacuated over hundreds of animals to safety.
