CHICAGO PD (NBC) - Wil Traval will guest on the new season as McGrady, a "sergeant [who] shares a past with Tracy Spiridakos' Upton." (TVLine.com)
HOCUS POCUS (Disney Channel, New!) - Scarlett Lacey ("The Royals") is penning a small screen take on the 1993 cult classic Walt Disney feature, which starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy. David Kirschner, producer on the original movie, is executive producing. (Deadline.com)
HOMELAND (Showtime) - Dylan Baker has signed onto the new season as Sam Paley, "a maverick politician from the Southwest who is leading an aggressive investigation into the Keane administration." (THR.com)
KUNG FU (FOX, New!) - Wendy Mericle ("Arrow") is spearheading a sequel to the 1970s David Carradine-led TV series which "follows the adventures of Lucy Chang, a Buddhist monk and kung fu master who travels through 1950s America armed only with her spiritual training and her martial arts skills as she searches for the man who stole her child years before. When she teams with JT Cullen, a charming Korean War vet with his own secrets, the two form an unlikely alliance that allows Lucy to continue her search while also coming to the aid of people in need." Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of the Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions are also behind the hour, which has a put pilot commitment. (Deadline.com)
LADDER 54 (CBS, New!) - Cedric the Entertainer is attached to star in a potential comedy for the Eye as part of a multiple script development deal. Already in the work is multi-camera effort "Ladder 54" from Bill Martin and Mike Schiff, about a big-city firehouse: "Stuck there for long shifts, a crew of firefighters eat, sleep, live, laugh and fight with each other, their relationships made more intense by the fact that at any moment, they'll be risking their lives for one another. They're led by a flawed but devoted captain (Cedric) whose biggest fires are in his personal life." A Bird and a Bear Entertainment's Cedric and Eric Rhone will also executive produce alongside Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
LAZARUS (Amazon, New!) - Greg Rucka and Michael Lark are looking to bring their comic book - set in an "alternative near future where the world has been divided among 16 rival families, who run their territories in a feudal system" - to the small screen at the streaming service. Rucka will presumably pen the script with Angela Cheng Caplan also serving as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
MAIN JUSTICE (CBS, New!) - Sascha Penn ("Survivor's Remorse") has sold a new drama to the Eye inspired by the life and work of former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. The project "takes us into the tumultuous world of the 5th floor of the Department of Justice where he takes on the biggest legal and investigative cases in the country all while being the youngest person to ever hold such an esteemed position." Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed will also executive produce alongside Penn and Holder for the CBS Television Studios-based Jerry Bruckheimer Television. (Deadline.com)
NICE GIRLS, THE (FOX, New!) - Shane Black's 2016 feature film - about two very different PIs (Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe) who are forced to team up on a case - is being developed as a contemporary gender flipped TV series at the network. Michael Diliberti is penning the hour with Joel Silver, Rodney Ferrell and Ken Kao also executive producing for Silver Pictures Television, 20th Century Fox Television and Lionsgate Television. A penalty is also attached. (Deadline.com)
RINGWORLD (Amazon, New!) - Larry Niven's classic science fiction book - about a hastily-assembled team of explorers travels to the farthest reaches of space to investigate a mind-blowing alien artifact called Ringworld, an artificial habitat the size of one million Earths - is being developed for TV by the streaming service. William S. Todman and Edward Milstein are executive producing the MGM Television-based project, which was previously set up at Syfy in 2013 and Sci Fi in 2004. (Deadline.com)
SCANDAL (ABC) - Dean Norris will drop by the show's final season in a yet-to-be-disclosed role. (TVLine.com)
SNOW CRASH (Amazon, New!) - Neal Stephenson's cult novel - about a pizza delivery driver-turned-hacker savior in futuristic America - is being developed for TV by the streaming serice. Joe Cornish and The Kennedy/Marshall Company's Frank Marshall are the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
TWO NIGHTS (FOX, New!) - Emily Silver ("Finding Carter") has sold a new drama to the network about "an ex-cop named Sunday Night who simply wants to be left alone with her pet squirrel. However, when her foster father asks for help in the kidnapping case of a young girl, Sunday is pulled away from her island home and back into the world of law enforcement. She must confront her own demons as she solves cases for the criminal investigative division of the FBI." Diablo Cody is also on board to executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (THR.com)
WAYWARD SISTERS (The CW) - Yadira Guevara-Prip has been cast as Kaia Nieves in "Supernatural" backdoor pilot spin-off. (EW.com)
WILL & GRACE (NBC) - Max Greenfield and Leslie Jordan are both bound for the show's revival, the latter reprising his role of "Karen's totally heterosexual nemesis Beverley Leslie." (TVLine.com)
