BOBBY BROWN STORY, THE (BET) - Woody McClain is set to return as Bobby Brown in the cable channel's two-part follow-up to "The New Edition Story." (Deadline.com)
DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW/THE FLASH (The CW) - Wentworth Miller has taken to social media to announce he's signing off from "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and "The Flash" as Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold. (@wentworthmiller)
GREAT DIVIDE, THE (CBS, New!) - Colleen McGuinness ("30 Rock") has set up a hybrid comedy at the Eye about "a married man with kids who was adopted as a baby and finally reconnects with his biological father, only to find that they disagree on everything. He tries to be the peacekeeper between his liberal adoptive parents and his super-conservative birth dad and family." 3 Arts Entertainment's Dave Becky and Oly Obst will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios. HAWAII FIVE-0 (CBS) - CBS Television Studios has extended the show's eighth season to 24 episodes, one more than previously indicated.
MRS. OTIS REGRETS (FOX, New!) - Melissa Scrivner Love and Ilene Chaiken are set to team for a new drama at the network about FBI Special Agent Clementine Otis, "a wife, mother and patriot who's in the midst of investigating a domestic terrorism threat when a personal indiscretion - an adulterous affair with a prominent government official - shatters her life and her career at the FBI." The 20th Century Fox Television-based project has a put pilot commitment with Judy Smith also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
NCIS (CBS) - CBS Television Studios has asked for two additional episodes, bringing its 15th season to 24 episodes.
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS (CBS) - CBS Television Studios has likewise ordered two additional installments for its fourth season, bumping its total of 24 episodes.
NEW GIRL (FOX) - Dermot Mulroney has booked a return trip for the show's final season as Jess' ex, Russell "The Fancyman" Shiller, last seen in season two. (TVLine.com)
RESIDENT, THE (FOX) - Jocko Sims will recur on the midseason drama as Ben Wilmot, "a cocky and controlling doctor of internal medicine who takes interest in a patient with hopes of solving a decade-long medical mystery." (Deadline.com)
SUPERGIRL (The CW) - Jesse Rath has been cast as Brainiac 5, "a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes who travels to National City from the 31st Century to help Supergirl and the DEO battle Reign, the villain that L-Corp CEO Samantha Arias (played by Odette Annable) is on track to becoming." TRIAGE (FOX, New!) - Ilene Chaiken ("Empire") has also sold a medical drama to the network, "interweaving three distinct phases of two women's lives: in 2008, we meet Rose and Celia as surgery interns at Stanford, and follow their careers into 2018 and 2028, as they explore cutting-edge medical techniques, and face challenges both professional and personal." Sonar Entertainment's Tom Lesinski, David Ellender and Jenna Santoianni and OutEast Entertainment's Steven Marrs and Courney Hazlett also serve as executive producers for 20th Century Fox Television. The project, based on material by consulting producer David Cornue, has a penalty attached. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SEAN GRAY PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Sean Gray ("Veep") has landed a potential comedy at the Peacock which "centers on a team of "super trainers" who travel the country opening new branches of a popular casual dining restaurant chain while filling the hole in their own souls one perfect onion ring at a time." Sony Pictures Television-based Olive Bridge Entertainment is behind the half-hour, which is inspired by Daniel Riley's 2016 GQ article on the subject, with Will Gluck, Richard Schwartz and Condé Nast Entertainment's Dawn Ostroff and Jon Koa also on board to executive produce. UNTITLED SUNIL NAYAR PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Sunil Nayar ("Revenge") has sold a new drama to the Peacock about Amrita Kaur, "a Sikh woman and an optimistic law student who works alongside her peers at a renegade student-run law firm to take on the country's biggest issues and institutions, giving voice to the voiceless." Universal Television is behind the project, the first sale of America Ferrera and Teri Weinberg's new production company which has a first-look deal with the studio. Drew Brown also executive produces with Valarie Kaur as a co-executive producer and Tafari Lumumba and Sharat Raju as supervising producers. (Deadline.com)
