#FASHIONVICTIM (E!) - Willa Fitzgerald has scored the lead role on the drama pilot, which centers on Anya St. Clair (Fitzgerald), "an angelic squirrel of a girl who works tirelessly as an associate editor of popular VIE Magazine and is the right-hand to its editor in chief, the great Celia Avery, but beneath her grace, composure and charm are some seriously swirling demons. Finally tapping into her dark side, she is given a rush and a spooky strength that may take her to the top of the fashion world." (Deadline.com)
AMAZING STORIES (Apple) - The company has closed a deal for a straight-to-series order for the proposed reboot of the anthology series. Steven Spielberg, Bryan Fuller, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and Hart Hanson are the executive producers for Universal Television and Amblin Television. (Deadline.com)
BEAST MODE (TNT, New!) - David Schneiderman is spearheading a potential drama at the cable channel inspired by the life of boxer and trainer Ann Wolfe. Said effort "tells the story of a feisty, damaged woman with a "kill or be killed" mentality. While this quality makes her an excellent trainer, it tends to cause problems in the rest of her life." Stefanie Huie and Macro's Charles D. King, Kim Roth and Poppy Hanks are also on board to executive produce. Wolfe will receive a producing credit. (Variety.com)
BLUE BOOK (History) - Actress Laura Mennell and director Robert Stromberg have both signed onto the upcoming drama. She'll play Allen's (Aidan Gillen) wife, Mimi Hynek, "who is seemingly a content stay-at-home housewife but has plans to become much more." Stromberg then is attached to direct the first two episodes of the series. (Deadline.com)
DIETLAND (AMC) - Rowena King and Robin Weigert have both joined the cast of the upcoming drama. Weigert will play Verena Baptist, "a body-positive counselor who notoriously exposed the secrets of her family's weight-loss program as a pyramid scheme." King then is set as Cheryl Crane-Murphy, "a no-nonsense newscaster who tries to remain level-headed and strictly bipartisan in an ever confusing and macabre news cycle." (Deadline.com, TVLine.com)
HOMECOMING (Amazon) - Stephan James is set to star opposite Julia Roberts in the upcoming half-hour drama, "a psychological thriller that centers on Heidi (Roberts), a caseworker at a secret government facility, and a soldier (James) eager to rejoin civilian life. James' Walter is a young military veteran with an underlying confidence and quiet sense of humor, who begins the Homecoming Initiative and is assigned to Heidi." (Deadline.com)
LAST CZARS, THE (Netflix, New!) - Nutopia has received a six-episode order for "a big-budget historical drama docuseries about the fall of the Romanov dynasty in Russia." The company's Jane Root will executive produce the project, further detailed as following "the fall of the Russian Imperial Romanov family, run by Tsar Nicholas II, who were killed in 1918 following the February Revolution." (Deadline.com)
MODEL MINORITIES (FOX, New!) - Writer Sanjay Shah and director Jonathan Krisel are set to team for a single-camera comedy about "a stereotype-busting comedy that follows a highly educated but struggling Indian-American who moves in with his uneducated, but rich, immigrant cousin." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the project, which has a penalty attached. Danica Radovanov will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
PROHIBITED (The CW, New!) - Jesse Lasky ("Revenge") has set up a new drama at the netlet billed as "an upstairs/downstairs Southern soap where high-spirited former thief Amelia Jones attempts a fresh start in male-dominated Bourbon Country. Her new life, however, is upended when her two sisters show up demanding Amelia's help in orchestrating the most dangerous heist of their lives: robbing the Money Room of the Kentucky Derby. Amelia now finds herself torn between the thrill of her dangerous past and her newfound ambition of becoming a Bourbon Queen." Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are the executive producers via their Warner Bros. Television-based Rare Birds Productions with Lasky serving as a co-executive producer and Tracy Ryerson as a producer. (Deadline.com)
RELATIVE JUSTICE (NBC, New!) - Barbara Curry (The Boy Next Door) has sold a new drama to the Peacock about Hannah Hayes, "an ambitious young legal analyst for a TV news show who has it all until she is fired after rebuffing the advances of a popular news anchor and finds herself learning the ropes of practicing law at her mother's unconventional law firm. Given this new opportunity to work together, Hannah and her mother, Evelyn, will find themselves exploring the joys and complexities of their mother-daughter relationship both at home and in the courtroom." Universal Television is behind the hour with Parkes+MacDonald's Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
TRANSPARENT (Amazon) - The streaming service has initiated an investigation into allegations against co-star Jeffrey Tambor over sexual harassment claims. The actor released a statement to the publication denying said allegations. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ANISTON & WITHERSPOON PROJECT (Apple, New!) - Apple has landed the proposed Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon-led drama with a two-10-episode-season, straight-to-series order. Jay Carson is penning the project, "described as an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, exploring the unique challenges faced by the women (and men) who carry out this daily televised ritual." Media Res' Michael Ellenberg will executive produce alongside Carson, Echo Films' Aniston and Hello Sunshine's Witherspoon. Brian Stelter, whose book "Top of the Morning" had likewise been optioned, will serve as a consultant on the series. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED BORGHESE & TURBOVSKY PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Matteo Borghese and Rob Turbovsky ("Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television") have sold a single-camera comedy to the network about "a woman named Amanda who is married to an Italian aristocrat. But when her husband and co-host decides to leave their Home Shopping Network-type show, her royal title and the show's shtick are put in jeopardy. To keep her princess brand alive, she enlists the help of her estranged stepson to continue the show." Eva Longoria and Ben Spector will also executive produce via their 20th Century Fox Television-based UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. (Variety.com)
VALOR (The CW) - The netlet has opted not to pick up additional episodes of military soap, wrapping its freshman run after 13 episodes. The series will then remain under consideration for a second season in May. (Deadline.com)
