DIETLAND (AMC) - Ricardo Davila is the latest addition to the upcoming drama as Eladio, "a loose-lipped assistant at Austen Media who happens to be a close - and unexpected - confidante to magazine editor Kitty Montgomery. Still, it's not always clear whose side Eladio is on, if anyone's but his own." (Deadline.com)
DOLLFACE (Hulu, New!) - Kat Dennings is set to star in a new comedy for the streaming service about "a young woman who, after being dumped by her longtime boyfriend, must metaphorically re-enter the world of women, and rekindle the female friendships she left behind." Jordan Weiss penned the half-hour while Stephanie Laing is on board to direct the pilot and serve as a producer. Margot Robbie and Brett Hedblom from LuckyChap Entertainment; Bryan Unkeless and Scott Morgan from Clubhouse Pictures; Nicole King from Management 360; Dennings and Weiss are the executive producers. GIFTED, THE (FOX) - Skyler Samuels is set to recur on the freshman drama as "a refugee mutant with telepathic abilities and a mysterious past." (Deadline.com)
HIGHWAY 59 (FX, New!) - Attica Locke is looking to bring her new novel "Bluebird, Bluebird" to the small screen at the cable channel. The project centers on Darren Mathews, "a black Texas Ranger who knows too well that when it comes to law and order, East Texas plays by its own rules." 3 Arts Entertainment's Richard Abate, Jermaine Johnson and Will Rowbotham are also set to executive produce. ICE (Audience) - Dale Whibley will recur on the show's sophomore run as Braxton, "a handsome high school senior at the Academy." (Deadline.com)
MAN VS. MACHINE (FOX, New!) - The network is developing an import of the U.K. project which "would see humans take on robots in various challenges." A pilot for the potential series, from Tuesday's Child, is "contingent upon the successful development of the machines that would feature in the show." (Variety.com)
NASHVILLE (CMT) - Charles Esten was among the many co-stars to confirm the upcoming season of the series will be its last. (@CharlesEsten)
ORIGINALS, THE (The CW) - Aria Shahghasemi is bound for the show's final season as Landon, "a thoughtful, compassionate and self-aware kid from the wrong side of the tracks who catches Hope's attention when she witnesses him being bullied by his affluent classmate." (TVLine.com)
REVOLUTION (FOX, New!) - The network was ordered a pilot for a domestic take on the U.K. game show in which "inline skaters take on skateboarders and BMXers in competition over several rounds in an indoor arena, with ensuing thrills and spills." Natalka Znak, Glenn Coomber, Richard Foster and Jenny Stephenson will executive produce for Motion Content Group and Znak & Co.. (Variety.com)
STILL THE KING (CMT) - The cable channel has passed on a third season for the Billy Ray Cyrus-led comedy. (Deadline.com)
SUITS (USA) - Simon Kassianides has been tapped for the potential Gina Torres-led spin-off series as "a mysterious tough guy with ties to both the Mayor and Chicago's biggest developer." (Deadline.com)
TRUE DETECTIVE (HBO) - Carmen Ejogo has signed onto the Mahershala Ali-led third season as Amelia Reardon, "an Arkansas schoolteacher with a connection to two missing children in 1980. Ali plays the lead role of Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED LESLEY WAKE WEBSTER PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Lesley Wake Webster ("Life in Pieces") has set up a single-camera comedy at the Alphabet "set in small-town Kentucky and centers on an overly idealistic young woman who experiences a delayed coming-of-age, guided by her freewheeling, larger-than-life father. It's told in flashback as she testifies at her father's parole board hearing." Jason Winer is also on board to direct and executive produce via his 20th Century Fox Television-based Small Dog Picture Company. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED PORT & WISEMAN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Joe Port and Joe Wiseman ("Me, Myself & I") have sold a new comedy to the Peacock about "a 20-something woman and a 40-something guy who get into a go-nowhere relationship that unexpectedly goes somewhere, bringing their generationally divided friends and family along for the ride." Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SIMMONS FAMILY PROJECT (ABC) - The pilot presentation, about a legendary rapper whose plans for slowing down are thwarted when his wife decides to pursue her own dreams and stardom, has found a new home at Netflix with a 10-episode order. Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons and Justine Simmons star in the multi-camera project, from Amblin Television and ABC Studios. Don Scardino directed from a script by Jeremy Bronson. Andrew Reich will serve as showrunner with Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank as well as Michael Lehman of Simmons Lehman Productions also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
