LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC has renewed its critically acclaimed Thursday night comedy "The Good Place" for a 13-episode third season.
The news was confirmed by a network spokesperson this morning:
"The Good Place" stars Ted Danson, Kristen Bell, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, Manny Jacinto and D'Arcy Carden. Michael Schur, David Miner, Morgan Sackett and Drew Goddard executive produce.
"The Good Place" is produced by Universal Television, Fremulon and 3 Arts Entertainment.
Critics have raved about the first two seasons of "The Good Place," with New York Newsday calling it "TV's most brazenly original comedy," Entertainment Weekly adding that the show is "a slice of comedy heaven" and The New York Times says "'The Good Place' is a dream come true."
So far this season, "The Good Place" is averaging a 2.0 rating in adults 18-49 and 6.2 million viewers overall in "live plus seven day" averages from Nielsen Media Research. When projected alternate-platform viewing is added to its rating, the show grows to a 2.60 in 18-49.
