Digital-First Series "Cash Lift" Launches On Discovery Go and Facebook Watch

Produced by Group Nine for Discovery Digital, New Digital Series is Based on Emmy-Award Winning Discovery Channel Series "Cash Cab"

(New York, New York) - Discovery Communications and Group Nine Media announced today that "Cash Lift," the latest collaboration between Group Nine Studios and Discovery Digital, is currently available exclusively on Discovery GO and Facebook Watch. The 5-episode series is based on the Emmy Award-winning series, "Cash Cab," which is currently airing Sundays at 10pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel.

Hosted by comedians Alex Weber and Zainab Johnson, "Cash Lift" moves the competition out of the cab and into a hotel where unsuspecting guests step into an elevator that quickly turns into a trivia game show. After choosing a floor, the excitement begins and contestants must answer as many questions as they can in order to win cold hard cash. The more questions they answer correctly the higher up they'll ascend and the more money they'll win. But if they get one question wrong, they'll lose it all and head back down to the lobby. "Cash Lift" can be found on Facebook Watch and be sure to follow the series page to get new episodes in your Watch list.

"After the success we had working with Group Nine Studios on Shark Week, we were excited to see what our next collaboration would be," said Fred Graver, SVP Original Content and Social, Discovery Communications. "I am thrilled that we were able to work together to create "Cash Lift" and have the chance to expand the popularity of "Cash Cab" on new platforms and introduce the series' concept to a new generation of viewers."

"We're really excited to have developed "Cash Lift" for Discovery Digital, which is fun, engaging, complementary IP for Discovery Channel's hit show Cash Cab, said Suzanne Kolb, chief brand officer at Group Nine Media. "The collaboration and partnership between Group Nine Studios and Discovery Digital has already proven to be a success with our Shark Week Snapchat show this summer and we can't wait to continue developing new IP for them."

"Cash Lift" is produced by Group Nine Studios, a division of Group Nine Media, for Discovery Digital. Fred Graver, SVP Original Content and Social, Discovery Communications, serves as Executive Producer. Discovery Digital and Group Nine Studios have previously joined forces to create digital-first, multi-platform content but "Cash Lift" marks the first time the two have come together to create a complementary series for an existing linear show. Group Nine Media formed in late 2016 by merging The Dodo, Thrillist, NowThis & Seeker, with a $100M investment from Discovery.
