AMERICAN CRIME/HORROR STORY (FX) - Ryan Murphy has nixed Jeffrey Toobin's Monica Lewinsky book, "A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President," which was optioned last year for his anthology "American Crime Story." Additionally, Joan Collins is bound for the upcoming eighth season of "American Horror Story." (THR.com)
AMERICAN VANDAL (Netflix) - Adam Ray will recur on the upcoming second season as Officer Crowder, "a resident police officer who has been at the school for over 15 years. He's very good at his job and takes pride in the fact that the school is one of the safest in the Pacific Northwest." (Deadline.com)
BLACK-ISH (ABC) - Creator Kenya Barris is reportedly looking to get out of his four-year overall deal, signed in 2017, with ABC Studios in favor of a new one with Netflix. Said development is said to be the result of creative differences with ABC, including its decision to shelve the episode "Please, Baby, Please" earlier this year. Barris is also an executive producer on the "Black-ish" spin-off "Grown-ish" and the pilot "Bright Futures," both of which were originally developed for ABC before finding homes at Freeform and NBC, respectively. (THR.com)
BREACH, THE: INSIDE THE IMPEACHMENT OF BILL CLINTON (History) - The cable channel has shelved its plans for a limited series based on Peter Baker's New York Times bestseller. Said development is "described as a creative decision." R.J. Cutler and David K. Israel were among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
EX-BEST (Freeform, New!) - Monica Hewes and Diana Gettinger are developing a potential comedy at the cable channel based on their web series about "two women post friend-breakup as they try to do the conscious uncoupling thing without physically uncoupling. As the rift ripples into their personal and professional lives, Ex-Best uncovers what happens when your best friend isn't your best friend anymore." Random Hill Productions' Jon Harmon Feldman and Jennifer Gwartz are the executive producers for ABC Signature with Hewes and Gettinger as co-executive producers. (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Sarah Utterback has booked a return trip to the veteran drama as Nurse Olivia who "pops back up in the [April 26] episode with her son, throwing both Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo (Camilla Luddington) for a loop." (EW.com)
LOST BOYS AND TECHNICOLOR GIRLS (Freeform, New!) - Jake Coburn has landed a small screen take on Alice Berman's upcoming book at the cable channel, about "18-year-old Thomas Zimmer who went missing seven years ago, splintering a tight-knit group of best friends on Manhattan's exclusive Upper East Side. Seven years later, Thomas Zimmer turns up dead, launching a high-profile murder investigation that brings this group of twenty-somethings back together as murder suspects, rekindling old friendships and old flames, and threatening to expose their deepest darkest secrets." Random Hill Productions' Jon Harmon Feldman and Jennifer Gwartz also serve as executive producers for ABC Signature. (Deadline.com)
PROJECT RUNWAY (Lifetime) - A+E Networks has scrapped its deal with the bankruptcy-bound Weinstein Co. citing a breach of its contract due to the company "failing to disclose the potential legal liability" of Harvey Weinstein's sexual misconduct allegations and "failing to provide a safe workplace for its employees." In May 2016, Lifetime signed a $50 million pact with The Weinstein Company for "Project Runway" (seasons 16-18), "Project Runway All Stars" (seasons 6-7) and "Project Runway Junior" (season 3) as well as new series "Project Runway: Fashion Startup." Both "All Stars" and "Junior" had one season to go with the parent series having two. (Deadline.com)
STRANGE ANGEL (CBSAA) - Karl Makinen is slated to recur on the upcoming drama as General Braxton: "A straight shooting member of the greatest generation, General Braxton works for the Army Air Corps and becomes increasingly interested in Jack and Richard's nascent rocketry project, an interest that will change the trajectory of all their lives." (Deadline.com)
WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD (CBS) - Dreama Walker is set to star opposite Josh Lawson in the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Dave (Lawson), the nicest guy in the Midwest who moves his family into a tough neighborhood in L.A. where not everyone appreciates his extreme neighborliness. She'll play his wife, Gemma: "Gemma accepts a huge teaching promotion that requires the family to relocate to Pasadena from Michigan. When they all arrive (without their moving truck), Gemma has to keep the family buoyed when they discover that things are less welcoming than they expected, and she becomes more determined than ever to make sure her family belongs."
