AEON FLUX (MTV, New!) - Jeff Davis ("Teen Wolf") is spearheading a live action reboot of the cable channel's former animated staple, which is "set in a future dystopian state and revolves around a young assassin who teams with a group of biohacking rebels to save humanity as she becomes the hero known as Aeon Flux." Valhalla Entertainment's Gale Anne Hurd is also on board to executive produce. Charlize Theron toplined the franchise's film incarnation in 2005. Davis is also behind the network's potential "War of the Worlds" TV series as well as a reboot of "Teen Wolf" itself. (THR.com)
ATLANTA (FX) - Amy Seimetz, who helmed two episodes of the show's second season, has signed an overall production deal with FX Productions. The news marks the latest "Atlanta" auspice to ink said pact, joining Donald Glover, Stephen Glover, Stefani Robinson and Hiro Murai. Seimetz was also behind "The Girlfriend Experience" TV series as a writer, director and executive producer. (Deadline.com)
CHANGELING, THE (FX, New!) - Victor LaValle's 2017 novel, billed as "a fairy tale for grown-ups," is being developed for TV at the cable channel. Kelly Marcel is penning the script to the project, detailed as follows: "Set in a New York no one knew existed, the drama focuses on the death-defying odyssey of Apollo Kagwa and Emma Valentine as they look to find out what happened to the son who was removed from them. On their voyage, they will travel through enchanted isles and haunted woodlands, meet glowing witches, demon giants and racist cops. They will deal with the perils of personal technology and social media, toxic masculinity, the mental health of new mothers and fathers, and find out if surviving a fairy tale is as brutal as simply surviving in Trumplandia." FX Productions and Annapurna Television are co-producing. (THR.com)
COOL KIDS, THE (FOX) - Patrick Walsh has been tapped as showrunner of the forthcoming comedy series. He replaces Kevin Abbott, who will assume said duties on the fellow 20th Century Fox TV-based "Last Man Standing" revival at the network. (Deadline.com)
GOOD DOCTOR, THE (ABC) - Creator David Shore has inked a new three-year overall deal with producer Sony Pictures TV. The pact covers his duties on the hit drama as well as any future development. (Deadline.com)
KIDDING (Showtime) - Olympic gold medal-winning ice skater Tara Lipinski is set to recur as herself on the upcoming Jim Carrey-led comedy series. (THR.com)
REDUCTRESS HOUR, THE (Comedy Central, New!) - Abby Elliott is set to host a potential late-night talk show at the network inspired by women's satire website of the same name. The potential series will "take on the absurdities of women's news, trends, broader national subjects and entertainment television while tackling various issues of the week, original segments and field interviews." Elliott will also executive produce the pilot alongside creators Beth Newell and Sarah Pappalardo as well as JAX Media's Tony Hernandez, Brooke Posch, Genevieve Aniello and John Skidmore. (THR.com)
TELL ME A STORY (CBSAA) - James Wolk and Dania Ramirez are the latest additions to the upcoming drama. He'll play Jordan, "a young, idealistic and successful NYC restaurateur. When the unimaginable happens, Jordan's life falls apart and he begins a decent into madness that could cost him everything, even himself." Ramirez then is set as Hannah, "a young Army vet who has returned from the war with scars both inside and out. She comes back to New York City in an attempt to rebuild her life, but when her estranged brother calls for help she finds herself in a deadly chase for survival." (Deadline.com)
