ZOEY DEUTCH, LUCY BOYNTON, LAURA DREYFUSS, RAHNE JONES JOIN RYAN MURPHY'S "THE POLITICIAN"

Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, Laura Dreyfuss and Rahne Jones have been cast as series regulars in Ryan Murphy's Netflix series The Politician.

Ryan Murphy will serve as writer, showrunner and executive producer.

Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan will serve as writers and executive producers.

Fox 21 Television Studios will produce The Politician for Netflix.

The Politician will premiere globally on Netflix.

Zoey Deutch

A vibrant and diversely talented actress, Zoey Deutch can currently be seen starring in Netflix's romantic comedy SET IT UP. She recently co-starred and produced THE YEAR OF SPECTACULAR MEN. Earlier this year, Deutch starred in Max Winkler's FLOWER, for which she received glowing reviews for her performance. Other recent credits include Ry Russo-Young's BEFORE I FALL, which premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, REBEL IN THE RYE opposite Nicholas Hoult, EVERYBODY WANTS SOME!! from writer/director Richard Linklater, and WHY HIM? opposite Bryan Cranston.

Lucy Boynton

Lucy Boynton will be seen starring opposite Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody. The film, out November 2018, is a celebration of Queen, their music and their lead singer Freddie Mercury, and chronicles the years leading up to Queen's legendary appearance at the Live Aid concert in 1985. Boynton portrays Mary Austin, Freddie Mercury's muse and companion. This fall, she will also be seen in Gareth Evans' period thriller Apostle opposite Dan Stevens and Michael Sheen. Most recently, Boynton was seen in Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express, starring Jonny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Dame Judi Dench; as well as Lisa Rubin's Netflix series Gypsy, opposite Naomi Watts. Other recent credits include Danny Strong's J.D. Salinger biopic Rebel In The Rye alongside Nicholas Hoult; Polly Steele's Let Me Go with Juliet Stevenson and Johdi May; and Osgood Perkins' horror film, The Blackcoat's Daughter opposite Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka. Boynton marked her breakthrough as the female lead in John Carney's Sing Street. The film got rave reviews and received a Golden Globe nomination in the category of Best Motion Picture for a Musical or Comedy. Her first feature film role was as young Beatrix Potter in Chris Noonan's Miss Potter for which she received a nomination for Best Supporting Young Actress in a Feature Film at the Young Artist Awards.

Laura Dreyfuss

Laura Dreyfuss most recently ended her run as the young female lead role of "Zoe Murphy" in the Broadway musical, "Dear Evan Hansen." She had been with the role since the musical made its world premiere in 2015 at Arena Stage in Washington DC. Since its Broadway debut in 2016, "Dear Evan Hansen" and the individual performances have been acclaimed by fans and critics alike. The musical won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Dreyfuss received a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album, and a Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program. On the small screen, Dreyfuss is best known for portraying Madison McCarthy in the sixth season of the FOX television series, "Glee." She appeared in 11 episodes and can be heard on the series' covers of "Chandelier" by Sia, "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and "Come Sail Away" by Styx.

Rahne Jones

Rahne Jones is a native of Silver Spring, Maryland who had a successful career outside of entertainment prior to making her move to New York City in 2016. Since then she has starred in cabarets and a production of Godspell where she played Judas. She has also been featured in print and online ad campaigns for various fashion and art brands. This will be Rahne's television debut.
