ARE YOU SLEEPING (Apple) - Moon Bloodgood is departing the Octavia Spencer/Lizzy Caplan-led drama as Cath Min, Poppy's (Spencer) best friend. Producers plan to recast the role and reshoot her character's scenes shot to date. (Deadline.com)
AVENUE 5 (HBO) - Hugh Laurie is set to star in Armando Iannucci's high-concept comedy pilot as Ryan Clark, "the charming and in-control American captain of Avenue 5." (Deadline.com)
CODE, THE (CBS) - Dana Delany has joined the cast of the midseason drama as Colonel Eisa Turnbull, "the Commanding Officer of the Marine Corps' Judge Advocate Division." She succeeds Mira Sorvino from the pilot, a role which was pegged for recasting as part of its series pickup. (Deadline.com)
FLASH, THE (The CW) - Kyle Secor has been cast as Caitlin Snow's hitherto absent father, "an extremely intelligent geneticist who has been MIA for decades." Susan Walters will also return as her mother, Dr. Carla Tannhauser. (EW.com)
GIRLBOSS (Netflix) - Alums Kay Cannon and Laverne McKinnon have inked a first-look deal with Sony Pictures Television, giving the studio first crack at the output from their K&L Productions banner. (THR.com)
GOOD BEHAVIOR (TNT) - Creator Chad Hodge has signed an overall deal with Tomorrow Studios, producer of the TNT series. The network has not yet made a formal decision on the show's fate. (Deadline.com)
HAWAII FIVE-0 (CBS) - Rochelle Aytes is set to recur on the upcoming season as Greer, "a sharp, smart and calculating CIA operative who was once romantically involved with McGarrett. Now, though, Greer is described as 'dangerous and not to be trusted.'" (TVLine.com)
HIGHLAND (TNT) - The cable channel has reportedly passed on the Margaret Cho-led drama pilot. Producer Tomorrow Studios is currently shopping the project elsewhere with Universal Cable Productions, home to co-creator Liz Sarnoff's recently signed overall deal, set to come on board as a co-producer if it's picked up. MARVEL'S JESSICA JONES (Netflix) - Executive producer Melissa Rosenberg has signed an eight-figure, multi-year overall deal with Warner Bros. Television. The pact will spell the end of her run on the Netflix series after its previously ordered third season. (THR.com)
'OHANA (ABC, New!) - Lisa Takeuchi Cullen has sold a new drama to the Alphabet based on Kiana Davenport's 1994 novel "Shark Dialogues," which "follows four hapa women who reunite when their grandmother, a mystic known as a kahuna, dies mysteriously and leaves them the family plantation." Viola Davis and Julius Tennon's JuVee Productions is behind the project, which is set up at ABC Studios, home to their overall deal. (THR.com)
PURGE, THE (USA) - Dominic Fumusa is set for a recurring role on the upcoming film-turned-TV series as Pete the Cop, "a keen eyed, no bullshit, ex-military and ex-cop with a mysterious past and a dry sense of humor. He's extremely connected and respected by the community, and has his finger on the pulse of the city." (Deadline.com)
SANCHEZ WAY, THE (ABC, New!) - Isaac Gonzalez has sold a new comedy to the Alphabet about "a loud, proud, Mexican-American family that lives by a very strict working class code. Show centers on Pedro Sanchez, the patriarch of the family, whose code is threatened when his 'fresa' brother-in-law (a Mexican yuppie) moves to town and wants to be part of the family." Milojo Productions' Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos and Albert Bianchini also serve as executive producers for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
SERVANT (A.K.A. UNTITLED BASGALLOP & SHYAMALAN PROJECT) (Apple) - Lauren Ambrose and Nell Tiger Free have been tapped to star in the psychological thriller, about "parents Dorothy and Sean Turner, who have hired young nanny Leanne to help care for their newborn child." Ambrose will play the aforementioned mother, Dorothy Turner, with Free as the nanny, Leanne Grayson. (Deadline.com)
SUPERGIRL (The CW) - Tyler Hoechlin will reprise his role as Superman during this year's crossover event. Said installment will also feature the debut of Lois Lane, currently being cast. (@DCComics)
TEACHER, A (FX) - Kate Mara is attached to star in and executive produce Hannah Fidell's small screen take on her 2013 feature, which is now set up at FX and sibling FX Productions. Originally sold to HBO in 2014, Daniel Brocklehurst, Jay Duplass, Mark Duplass and Cota Films' Michael Costigan were also among the auspices. It's not clear if they're still attached to the FX incarnation. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED HORGAN & MAGNUSSOEN PROJECT (Amazon, New!) - Sharon Horgan and Billy Magnussoen are attached to star in a potential comedy at the streaming service about "a socially awkward, broke, single woman (Horgan) who launches a self-help company and recruits a handsome former male gymnast (Magnussen) to be the face of it." Horgan will co-write the Amazon Studios-based project (which has a script-to-series commitment) with Ian Helfer and John Hamburg, the latter of which will also direct. Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor and Merman's Clelia Mountford will likewise executive produce. (Deadline.com)
