NEW YORK, August 23, 2018 - Sam Morril teams up with Amy Schumer to deliver joke after joke in his first one-hour stand-up special. Amy Schumer Presents Sam Morril: Positive Influence makes its world premiere with limited commercial interruption on Friday, September 14 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central and an encore will air on Sunday, September 16 at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT. Working alongside Comedy Central to curate talent, Schumer further proves that good things come in threes with Positive Influence being the third of its kind following Amy Schumer Presents Mark Normand: Don't Be Yourself and Amy Schumer Presents Rachel Feinstein: Only Whores Wear Purple which premiered on Comedy Central on May 12, 2017 and April 23, 2016, respectively.
"Sam is hilarious and I'm excited for people to see him," said Schumer.
In Positive Influence, Morril points out why babies seem racist and argues that porn is more body positive than women's magazines - and that's just in the first 20 minutes. Whether he's talking about his exes, crappy customer service or anti-Semitic bigots, no one is safe from his dark and curious mind.
Leading up to the on-air premiere, cc.com and the CC App will feature an exclusive digital trailer and preview clips from the special. On Saturday, September 15, the full special will be available to stream in the CC App and on CC.com, and on Tuesday, September 18, the extended and uncensored version will be available for digital download on iTunes, Prime Video, Microsoft Movies & TV, Google Play, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Vudu and Verizon Fios on Demand. The album, released by Comedy Central Records, will be available for digital download, streaming, and on satellite radio on Friday, September 14, with pre-order starting on Friday, September 7. Fans can follow Morril on Twitter at @sammorril and Comedy Central Stand-Up at @standup to join the social conversation around the special.
Morril is one of the fastest-rising stand-up comics in New York City and one of the best joke writers in the scene today. He was named one of Comedy Central's Comics to Watch in 2011 and has performed multiple stand-up sets on Comedy Central's Adam Devine's House Party, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Conan. He's also had stints on Last Comic Standing, America's Got Talent, @midnight with Chris Hardwick, and Inside Amy Schumer. In 2015, Morril recorded his debut album, Class Act, with Comedy Central records, which went to #1 on iTunes and made numerous top 10 lists, and appeared on season four of Comedy Central's The Half Hour. Most recently, Morril went head to head slinging insults against his friend and Keeping Joe podcast co-host, Joe Machi, on Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle, which premiered on August 14.
Morril was the host of his very own show on MSG called People Talking Sports, which ran for two seasons and received an Emmy(R) nomination. You can see Morril regularly at The Comedy Cellar in New York City and on the road hitting new cities.
