CHICAGO PD (NBC) - Alexis Louder is the latest bound for the veteran drama in the recurring role of Jasmine Price, "the composed, bright, hopeful, impressive daughter of Ray Price (Wendell Pierce). A rising political star on the wings of her successful father." (Deadline.com)
EMPEROR OF MALIBU, THE (CBS) - Ken Jeong has scored a lead role on the multi-camera comedy pilot, about two very different families - one from Shanghai with new money and one from the U.S. East Coast with old money - who learn to co-exist when their children get married. He'll play Gerry, who "is shocked when he learns that his son, Auggie, plans to marry a California woman he has been dating for two years without telling his parents. Gerry brings the whole family to Los Angeles to see if they can persuade Auggie to re-think his engagement." (Deadline.com)
INTERROGATION (CBSAA) - Ernest Dickerson has signed on to direct six of the planned 10 episodes of the true-crime drama series as well as serve as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
LOKI PROJECT (Disney+) - Michael Waldron has been tapped to spearhead the proposed Tom Hiddleston-led series at the upcoming streaming service. The show will reportedly "follow Loki as the trickster and shape-shifter pops up throughout human history as an unlikely influencer on historical events." (THR.com)
MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, THE (Amazon) - Rachel Brosnahan has closed a new deal with Amazon Studios to continue on the series reportedly valued at $300,000 an episode and includes a piece of the series' backend. Tony Shalhoub and Alex Borstein are likewise on track for new pacts with the company, a staple on successful series after their first two seasons. (Deadline.com)
OUTSIDER, THE (HBO) - Andrew Bernstein has signed on as an executive producer of the Ben Mendelsohn-led drama, based on Stephen King's bestselling novel. He'll also serve as in-house director alongside Jason Bateman, who is helming the first two episodes. (Deadline.com)
PENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS (Showtime) - Jessica Garza and Johnathan Nieves will join Daniel Zovatto in John Logan's spin-off series. Nieves will play Mateo Vega, "Tiago's volatile younger brother. While essentially goodhearted, he lacks the clear strength and ambition of Tiago, so he's vulnerable to both his own capricious emotions and various influences around him." Garza then will portray Josefina, "the youngest of the Vega family. She plays the part of the quiet and overlooked sister, but possesses a powerful spirit waiting to be unleashed." (Deadline.com)
RICHARD LOVELY (FOX) - Wendie Malick is the first to be cast in the single-camera comedy pilot as Richard's mother, Alana: "Alana loves her son very much but perhaps will always love herself a little bit more. Okay, a lot more." Additionally, Alex Hardcastle has signed on to direct the pilot and executive produce. (Deadline.com)
SAVING KENAN (NBC) - Chris Rock has signed on to direct and executive produce the Kenan Thompson-led comedy pilot, about a newly widowed dad determined to be everything for his kids while begrudgingly letting his persistent father-in-law become more involved in their lives. (Deadline.com)
YOU (Netflix) - Robin Lord Taylor is slated to recur on the show's second season as Will: "Will deals with unsavory sorts as part of his job, but is himself a thoughtful, personable, and highly intelligent guy who marches to the beat of his own drummer. That is, until he gets trapped in a bad situation." (Deadline.com)
