ALMOST PARADISE (WGN America, New!) - The network has acquired the 10-episode drama, which stars Christian Kane as Alex Walker, "a former US DEA agent who was forced into early retirement. Once the DEA's most resourceful undercover operative, the combination of his partner's betrayal and a life-threatening battle with hypertension has sent him as far from the madness as he can go... a small tropical island in the Philippine Archipelago." Dean Devlin and Gary Rosen are behind the hour, which is also executive produced by Electric Entertainment's Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson. (Deadline.com)
ARROW (The CW) - Co-star Emily Bett Rickards posted to social media over the weekend that she won't be returning for the show's recently ordered eighth - and final - season. (@emilybett, 3/30)
PATSY & LORETTA (Lifetime) - Janine Turner is the latest addition to the Patsy Cline/Loretta Lynn-telefilm as Hilda Hensley, "Patsy's (Megan Hilty) mother, and also her seamstress/costume designer and confidante." (Deadline.com)
TALES FROM THE LOOP (Amazon) - Paul Schneider and Jonathan Pryce will join Rebecca Hall in the high-concept drama series. Schneider will play George, "the founder of "The Loop's" son." Pryce will portray Russ, "the founder and leader of the Loop project." (Deadline.com)
THEM (Amazon) - David Matthews has signed a two-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. The pact calls for him to develop new series projects for the studio as well as serve as showrunner on Amazon's horror event series. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MALCOLM X PROJECT (FX, New!) - David Matthews is developing a limited series at the cable channel based on Manning Marable's Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, "Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention." Critical Content and The Get Lifted Film Company are also behind the project, no other details of which were given. (Deadline.com)
WARRIOR NUN (Netflix) - Sylvia De Fanti is the latest addition to the manga-turned-TV series as Mother Superion, "responsible for training the Warrior Nuns, and while she might not give the orders, she's the one who really runs the place. Having witnessed horrors as a child, she's burdened with the guilt of the things she did and didn't do while just trying to survive." (Deadline.com)
WU-TANG: AN AMERICAN SAGA (Hulu) - Johnell Young is the latest bound for the docudrama as Gary, "Bobby's older cousin who introduced him to hip hop and is also an aspiring MC - which he will someday achieve and be known as the GZA. He has a scientific mind and a spiritual side and being older than the other peers he becomes a source of inspiration of hip hop and mathematics." (Deadline.com)
