BASTARDS (Apple TV+) - The upcoming streaming service has opted not to proceed with the Richard Gere-led drama over content concerns. The company previously committed to eight episodes of the project, which is based on the Israeli drama. (THR.com)
CHORUS LINE, A (Netflix, New!) - A 10-episode adaptation of the famed musical is among the latest projects in the works from Ryan Murphy at the streaming service. (Time.com)
EMPIRE (FOX) - The upcoming final season will see Katlynn Simone, Meta Golding, Wood Harris and Mario - who play Treasure, Teri, Damon and Devon, respectively - promoted to series regulars. (Deadline.com)
FARGO (FX) - Glynn Turman has scored a recurring role on the show's fourth season as Doctor Senator. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
GENERATION (HBO Max) - Martha Plimpton is the first to be cast in the comedy pilot as Megan, "the mother of the leading two roles that have yet to be cast. Megan is a magnetic Adderall-fueled type-A Orange County mother whose core convictions clash with the values of her children's generation." (Deadline.com)
HOLLYWOOD (Netflix) - Patti LuPone and Holland Taylor have both been confirmed for Ryan Murphy's upcoming series, due in May and billed as "a love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown." (Time.com)
LIAM HEMSWORTH QUIBI PROJECT (Quibi) - Christoph Waltz is set to star opposite Liam Hemsworth in the upcoming series, about Dodge Maynard (Hemsworth) "who, desperate to take care of his pregnant wife before a terminal illness can take his life, accepts an offer to participate in a deadly game where he soon discovers that he's not the hunter, but the prey." Waltz will play Miles Sellers. No other details were given. (Variety.com)
PERFECT COUPLE, THE (FOX, New!) - Elin Hilderbrand's bestselling novel is being developed as a drama series at the network by SideCar and FOX Entertainment. The search is underway for a writer to spearhead the project, which centers around wedding season on Nantucket in which a body is discovered in Nantucket Harbor just hours before a ceremony. Hilderbrand and Gail Berman will executive produce. (Deadline.com)
SALOON (FOX, New!) - Elliot Kalan and Jenny Jaffe are set to team for a potential animated comedy at the network "set in the frontier outpost of Timmy's Town. Kevin (a woman) runs the local saloon, McClanahan's, where she functions as the townspeople's unofficial leader/therapist/protector. At the other side of Timmy's Town is do-gooder Sheriff Stacey Leslie (a man) whose only mission is to close Kevin's "sinful" bar and run her out of town for good."
