ALL AMERICAN (The CW) - Dina Meyer will recur on the show's sophomore run as Asher's mom, Gwen Adams, "a sophisticated woman with a complicated past who wants to come back into Asher's life after a mysterious year-long absence." (TVLine.com)
BLACK-ISH (ABC) - Tracee Ellis Ross will reunite with fellow "Girlfriends" co-stars Jill Marie Jones, Persia White and Golden Brooks for an October episode in which Ross's Bow "takes daughter Diane to meet the women in her feminist group, and brings along three of her girlfriends to join the group as well in a bid to make it more inclusive." BOSCH (Amazon) - Bambadjan Bamba has scored a recurring role on the show's sixth season as Remi Toussaint, the "smart and no-nonsense, right-hand man to Jacques Avril." (Deadline.com)
DELILAH (HBO Max) - Michael McKean has been cast in the drama pilot as Tom Childs, Sr., "a successful and charming car dealership owner grieving the recent death of his wife, who gave him three children, a happy home, and a comfortable life. Tom now has to deal with a funeral, his bickering grown children, and the arrival of Delilah (Jessica Rothe), a young woman who claims to be his daughter." (Variety.com)
FIREFLY LANE (Netflix) - Ali Skovbye and Roan Curtis have been tapped to play the younger versions of Katherine Heigl's Tully Hart and Sarah Chalke's Kate Mularkey, respectively, in the upcoming drama. (Deadline.com)
FLEISHMAN IS IN TROUBLE (FX, New!) - Taffy Brodesser-Akner is bringing her novel to the small screen as a limited series at the cable channel. The project, from ABC Signature Studios, revolves around a 40-something New Yorker getting a divorce whose exploration into the world of app-based dating is spoiled when his wife drops off their two children at his place and doesn't return. Susannah Grant, Timberman-Beverly Productions' Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
GOD FRIENDED ME (CBS) - Karine Vanasse is slated to recur on the new season as Audrey Grenelle, "a French socialite with a mysterious connection to the God Account. Her involvement will lead Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) to a discovery that will change everything he thought he knew about the God Account." (Deadline.com)
GREAT NEWS (NBC) - Creator Tracey Wigfield has signed a new multiyear overall deal with producer Universal Television. There she'll new continue to develop new series projects for the studio. (THR.com)
GROW UP (FOX, New!) - Tommy Johnagin has scored a put pilot commitment from the network for a single camera-comedy billed as "a central Florida-set dual coming-of-age comedy about a boy becoming a man and a man becoming an adult, framed by conversations between those two men later in life." Ehsugadee Productions' Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker and Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment. INTO THE DARK (Hulu) - Georgie Flores, Adelaide Kane, Paige McGhee, Jacques Colimon, Dylan Arnold and Evan Bittencourt have all been cast in the debut installment of the show's second season, due on October 4. "Uncanny Annie" is "set on Halloween night and centers around a group of college students who get trapped in a mysterious board game that brings their darkest secrets and fears to life, where they must play to escape... and win to survive." MAGNUM P.I. (CBS) - Larry Manetti, who played Orville "Rick" Wright on the original series, will guest on the reboot entry as his "Hawaii Five-0" guest-starring role of Nicky "The Kid" DeMarco, "who assists Rick in opening his new club LaMariana, which is poised to become Oahu's coolest tiki bar." MRS. AMERICA (FX) - BAFTA-winning British filmmaker Amma Asante has been tapped to helm two of the limited series' nine episodes. (THR.com)
MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY, THE (Hulu, New!) - The streaming service is finalizing deals for a straight-to-series order for a new drama based on the best-selling YA novel by Trenton Lee Stewart. The project, from Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, "is the tale of four gifted orphans who are recruited by a eccentric, benefactor to go on a secret mission. Placed undercover at a boarding school known as The Institute, they must foil a nefarious plot with global ramifications, while creating a new sort of family along the way." Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer will serve as showrunners with James Bobin directing the debut episode. Sonar Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television are co-producing with said group executive producing alongside Fanfare Productions' Jamie Tarses and Karen Kehela Sherwood. (Deadline.com)
SHOWTIME (HBO) - Newcomers Quincy Isaiah and Solomon Hughes have been cast as NBA legends Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, respectively, in the pay channel's pilot about the Los Angeles Lakers' dynasty of the 1980s. (Deadline.com)
TOKYO VICE (HBO Max) - Ken Watanabe has signed on to star opposite Ansel Elgort in the drama series as Hiroto Katagiri, "a detective in the organized crime division of the Tokyo Police Department who is also a father-figure to Jake (Elgort) throughout the series as he helps guide him along the thin and often precarious line between the cops and the world of organized crime." UNTITLED GAME OF THRONES SPIN-OFF PROJECTS (HBO) - The pay channel is close to giving a pilot order to a second prequel series, this time based on the "Fire & Blood" novel "set 300 years before the events in 'Game of Thrones' and tracks the beginning of the end for House Targaryen." George R.R. Martin himself and Ryan Condal are behind the project, which is "a brand new take on a world originally tackled by Bryan Cogman in one of the five [prequel] scripts commissioned by HBO in 2017." WESTWORLD (HBO) - J.J. Abrams has closed a five-year overall deal with WarnerMedia that will keep his Bad Robot Productions' based at the company through 2024. The pact, valued as much as $500 million, covers both film and television as well as games and digital content. The company also has "Lovecraft Country," "Demimonde" and "They Both Die at the End" in the works at HBO; as well as "Lisey's Story," "Little Voice" and "My Glory Was I Had Such Friends" at Apple TV+.
