AMAZING STORIES (Apple TV+) - The late Robert Forster has been confirmed as appearing in the revival series. Directed by Susanna Fogel, "Dynoman and The Volt" is about "an awkward tween boy and his grandpa (Forster) who wrestle with feeling powerless. When a superhero ring Grandpa ordered out of the back of a comic book arrives 50 years late, they discover it has the power to turn them into actual superheroes." (Deadline.com)
LITTLE VOICE (Apple TV+) - The half-hour romantic dramedy, which "will explore the journey of finding your voice in your early 20s," has cast Brittany O'Grady, Shalini Bathina, Sean Teale, Colton Ryan, Samrat Chakrabarti, Gopal Divan, Sakina Jaffrey and Emma Hong in unspecified roles. J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson, Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson are the executive producers of the 10-episode series, with Nelson, Cherien Dabis, Bart Freundlich, Christopher Storer and Emma Westenberg set to direct. MARVEL'S CLOAK & DAGGER (Freeform) - The cable channel has axed the series after two seasons. "We are so proud of Marvel's Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told," Freeform said in a statement. "We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision. We'd like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons and are we are hopeful that we can find another project together." (Deadline.com)
MODERN LOVE (Amazon) - John Carney, executive producer of the just-renewed anthology series, has signed an overall deal with Amazon Studios. (Deadline.com)
OLD MAN, THE (FX) - Leem Lubany and E.J. Bonilla have both scored roles on the Jeff Bridges-led drama pilot. Lubany will star as "a younger version of Abbey Chase, the deceased spouse of Dan Chase". Bonilla then will play Raymond Waters, "a CIA operative who must join forces with FBI agent Harold Harper (Lithgow) in order to catch up with the fugitive Chase." (Variety.com)
STRANGER THINGS (Netflix) - The show's fourth season - believed to consist of eight episodes - will "begin shooting in January and will likely wrap in August, which essentially rules out the possibility of the series returning this summer." (TVLine.com)
TOM CLANCY'S JACK RYAN (Amazon) - Paul Scheuring has been tapped as showrunner for the series' third season. He'll succeed original showrunner Carlton Cuse and season two shepherd David Scarpa. (Deadline.com)
UNDERGROUND RAILROAD, THE (Amazon) - Tony Award-nominee Amber Gray has been cast in the limited series as Gloria Valentine, "described as a daughter of a slave and plantation owner/master." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED 100 PREQUEL, THE (The CW, New!) - The show's upcoming final season will feature a backdoor pilot episode "set 97 years before the events of the original series. It starts with the end of the world - a nuclear apocalypse that wipes out most of the human population on Earth - and follows a band of survivors on the ground as they learn to cope in a dangerous world while fighting to create a new and better society from the ashes of what came before." Jason Rothenberg will pen the installment with Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo of Alloy Entertainment also serving as executive producers for Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios.
