G-MEN (FOX, New!) - Luke Cunningham has sold a multi-camera comedy to the network about "two estranged brothers - who both claim to be government agents, even though one is a hardcore FBI agent and the other's a part-time mailman - struggle to put their vast differences aside when they reunite to help their larger-than-life mother move on after the death of their father." 20th Century Fox Television and FOX Entertainment are behind the project with Austen Earl also slated to executive produce. But when her first (of four) ex-husbands throws her a surprise party that her own mother doesn't even attend, it sends Avery into an existential crisis prompting an emergency therapy session. Feeling semi-responsible for Avery's empty and meaningless life, the therapist sends Avery home with a calming tea to help her sleep. When she wakes up the next morning, it's 2001 and Avery is being given a second chance to reinvent herself and make her life more substantial than a hashtag." Last month, Jefferies sold a potential comedy - which he's attached to star in - to NBC. "The Jim Jefferies Show will air its final episode on November 19, concluding a brilliant three-year run on Comedy Central," said a spokesperson for Comedy Central. "We thank Jim and the team for bringing us a unique and international approach to culture and politics. We look forward to developing more projects with Jim in the future." (Deadline.com)
KUNG FU (The CW, New!) - Christina M. Kim is the latest creator looking to reboot Ed Spielman's 1970s staple, in which "a quarter-life crisis causes a young Chinese-American woman to drop out of college and go on a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China. But when she returns to find her hometown overrun with crime and corruption, she uses her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice... all while searching for the assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her." The news marks the third such effort, but first for The CW. Wendy Mericle and Albert Kim were behind previous attempts in 2017 and 2018, both for FOX. Jason Reed and Jon Steinberg are also executive producing the hour for ABC Studios. (THR.com)
REVENGE (ABC, New!) - Creator Mike Kelley is developing a follow-up series to his 2011-15 entry which "chronicles the story of a young Latinx immigrant.
