BEST KEPT SECRET (ABC, New!) - Erica Messer has sold a new drama to the network about "a mother and ex-intelligence agent who's long hidden her past from her family. She is forced to return to work when she discovers her daughter was tapped to join the same group she left years before." Messer and Deborah Cincotta then will executive produce via her ABC Studios-based Erica Messer Productions, where she recently extended her overall deal. (Deadline.com)
BH90210 (FOX) - The network has passed on a second season for the summer series. "We are so proud to have reunited in a very special summer event one of the network's legacy series and casts with 90210 fans across the country," the network said in a statement. "Profound thanks to and respect for Brian, Gabrielle, Ian, Jason, Jennie, Shannen and Tori, who, along with the entire crew and everyone at FOX and CBS Television Studios, poured their hearts and souls into this truly inventive and nostalgic revival."
CAROL'S SECOND ACT (CBS) - Executive producer David Hunt has been the focus of an investigation into "alleged unwanted physical contact," an incident that was followed by two female writers leaving the show. CBS Television Studios released a statement saying: "A claim of unprofessional behavior was made by a writer regarding one of the show's executive producers. The complaint was reported by a producer to the showrunners, who immediately alerted the production company and the Studio. The matter was promptly investigated by Human Resources and appropriate action was taken to address the complaint. The executive producer cooperated fully with the process. The writer was a valued member of the show's creative team who was encouraged to stay but left of their own accord." (Deadline.com)
DASH & LILY (Netflix) - The romantic comedy series has tapped recurring roles for Glenn McCuen as Edgar Thibaud, "a popular prep school boy from a privileged upbringing"; Michael Park as Gordon, "Dash's father, a world traveler who skis, sails and always manages to make his son feel small"; Gideon Emery as Adam, "Lily's father, a school administrator and works hard to shelter his children from the harsher realities of the adult world"; Jennifer Ikeda as Grace, "Lily's mother, a poetry scholar who's taught her daughter to find the beauty in everyday life"; and Diego Guevera as Benny, "the boyfriend of Lily's brother Langston (Troy Iwata)". DEVS/MRS. AMERICA/THE OLD MAN/A TEACHER (FX) - All four of the aforementioned series will transition to Hulu as the service transitions to "the official streaming home for FX Networks." The news follows the FX Plus subscription service being shuttered in August, just a few months after Disney took control of FX as part of the Disney/21st Century Fox merger. (Deadline.com)
EXTENDED FAMILY (CBS, New!) - Eddie Gorodetsky has booked a new multi-camera comedy at the Eye in which "a brother and sister are at ground zero when a family secret sends shock waves through an already dysfunctional family." Warner Bros. Television is producing. (Deadline.com)
GOSSIP GIRL (HBO Max) - Kristen Bell is set to return as narrator for the streaming service's revival of the former CW staple. (Deadline.com)
HONORABLE, THE (CBS, New!) - Ali Leroi and Michelle Amor are set to team for a new drama at the Eye about "the young, idealistic new mayor of Chicago finds that winning the election seems like a cakewalk compared to the challenges of running one of the most politically fraught cities in the world, balancing her own tangled personal life and navigating an old rivalry with a powerful family." Leroi, Phil McGraw, Jay McGraw and Julia Eisenman are the executive producers for Stage 29 Productions and CBS Television Studios with Amor serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
INVISIBLE (ABC, New!) - Ben Watkins and Rashad Raisani are set to team for a new drama at the Alphabet about "an undercover federal agent going through an identity crisis as she struggles to find balance between her roles as a wife and mother and her calling as a high risk law enforcement officer." Said effort is set up at 20th Century Fox Television, home to Raisani's overall deal. (Deadline.com)
JOHN CRIST: I AIN'T PRAYIN' FOR THAT (Netflix) - The streaming service has shelved the stand-up comedy special, previously set for November 28, "after receiving multiple complaints of sexual misconduct from several women." (Deadline.com)
KILLING EVE (BBCA) - Gemma Whelan, Pedja Bjelac, Camille Cottin, Steve Pemberton, Raj Bajaj, Turlough Convery and Evgenia Dodina are all bound for the upcoming season in yet-to-be-revealed roles. (EW.com)
LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, A (Amazon) - Abbi Jacobson, D'Arcy Carden and Gbemisola Ikumelo are in talks to star in the streaming service's small screen take on the 1992 feature film, which revolves around "a women's professional baseball league during World War II." Jacobson - who is writing the script with Will Graham - would play Carson, "a farm girl whose husband is off fighting the war"; with Carden as Greta, "a beautiful and worldly player who once was in the Army"; and Ikumelo as Clance. Originally set up as a half-hour, the project has since been converted into one-hour ahead of a quiet pilot order. (Deadline.com)
LEGACIES (The CW) - Chris Wood will reprise his "The Vampire Diaries" role of Kai Parker on the show's 12th episode this season. (TVLine.com)
LOVE ISLAND FRANCE (Amazon, New!) - The streaming service is slated to be home to a French version of the British format from ITV Studios, the U.S. incarnation of which airs on CBS. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
MISSING ONE, THE (Amazon, New!) - WeMake and Borderline Media have booked an adventure reality series at the company "set in Australia and sees four teams of celebrities and their relatives taking part in a series of challenges. One member of each trio has secretly agreed to disappear from the very beginning and join the same hidden location: The Headquarters. The teams on the road are then on a mission to find their Missing One." The winner receives 200,000 Euro, which they will give to the charity of their choice. (Deadline.com)
NIGHTINGALE (ABC, New!) - Matt Partney and Corey Evett have landed a potential series at the Alphabet billed as "a sprawling, multi-generational family soap set within a high-stakes medical drama where the nurse is the hero." Said duo will executive produce alongside Eric Messer and Deborah Cincotta via the ABC Studios-based Erica Messer Productions. (Deadline.com)
OPERATIONS TOTEMS (Amazon, New!) - Juliette Soubrier and Olivier Dujols have set up a new drama at the streaming service "set in 1964 in the midst of the Cold War. It follows Francis Morizet, secret agent, struggling to carry his legend of a father's mantle as he heads into the field for the first time and stumbles upon Lyudmila, newly KGB. In the middle of continuous illegal intelligence operations between the SDECE and the CIA, they will struggle for their countries and against the love they feel for each other." Gaumont is producing the series, which starts filming in 2020 for a 2021 premiere. (Deadline.com)
RAPPER WARRIOR NINJA (Quibi, New!) - Eric Andre is set to host a high-concept competition series for the streaming service which "will feature some of today's top hip hop artists freestyling while traversing a treacherous gauntlet of tortuous obstacles in the Rapper Warrior Ninja arena." The project, which originated as a segment on "The Eric Andre Show," comes from the Sick Duck banner with Andre and Kitao Sakurai executive producing. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED GEORGIA KING PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Georgia King is attached to star in a single-camera comedy at the Alphabet about Martha (King) and Charlie, "two strangers who live one street apart and have no idea they're soulmates. The show follows their journey to finding each other, which is complicated, funny and full of surprises." King also penned the project with Tami Sagher and Broadway Video Television's Lorne Michaels, Andrew Singer and Hilary Marx also executive producing for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
VANISHING POINT (CBS, New!) - Breen Frazier has booked a potential drama at the Eye about "a cavalier but brilliant behavioral psychologist and his methodical FBI agent ex-wife, who are forced to reteam on a missing-persons case that in fact might be the spark they need to rekindle their relationship and finally locate their own teenage son, who disappeared years before." Stage 29 Productions' Jay McGraw, Phil McGraw and Julia Eisenman; Odenkirk Provissiero's Marc Provissiero; and Lee Schneller and Jeremy Evans will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios. VOLTAIRE, MIXTE (Amazon, New!) - The company has commissioned an eight-part series which "takes place in an all-male high school when women are allowed in for the first time. Set in 1960s France, the series will look at the relationships and "hormonal fireworks" of the time. It will cover topics such as love, emancipation, sexuality and self-acceptance." En Voiture Simone and Autopilot Entertainment are behind the project, from writer Marie Roussin with Eleonore Dailly and Edouard de Lachomette presumably also executive producing. The series is currently in pre-production and will launch in 2021. (Deadline.com)
WEEDS 4.20 (Starz, New!) - Mary-Louise Parker is set to star in a potential sequel series to the 2005-2012 Showtime entry "Weeds" at the pay channel. "The new show picks up with the Botwin family 10 years after the events of the original series in an era of legalization." Fellow series alum Victoria Morrow is spearheading the project, while creator Jenji Kohan is not currently attached. Parker will also executive produce. Original studio Lionsgate, which bought Starz in 2016, is producing. (Variety.com)
WILDS, THE (Amazon) - The upcoming young adult drama series has cast Rachel Griffiths as Gretchen Klein, "an ambitious intellectual who runs an all-girls empowerment retreat"; David Sullivan as Daniel Faber, "an FBI trauma specialist"; Troy Winbush as Dean Young, "a seasoned investigator"; Sophia Ali as Fatin Jadmani, "a proudly promiscuous girl with an audacious fashion sense"; Sarah Pidgeon as Leah Rilke, "a loner who prefers reading, writing, and observing the world around her"; Jenna Clause as Martha Blackburn, "a timid animal lover with a big heart and shaky self-esteem"; and Erana James as Toni Shalifoe, "a tomboy with anger issues." They join the previously announced Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Reign Edwards and Shannon Berry. (Deadline.com)
YES SHE CAN (ABC, New!) - Veronica West is developing a potential drama at the Alphabet based on Molly Dillon's book, subtitled "10 Stories of Hope & Change from Young Female Staffers of the Obama White House."
