#BLACKEXCELLENCE (Netflix) - The Kenya Barris/Rashida Jones-led comedy has cast Genneya Walton as Chloe, "the effortlessly popular, under appreciative college student with an astounding level of entitlement"; Iman Benson as Drea, "the moral center and Narrator of the show"; Scarlet Spencer as Izzy, "who's difficult for difficulty's sake, a pain-in-the-ass contrarian whose lack of caring only makes people want to mess with her more"; Justin Claiborne as Pops, "as lovable as he is gullible"; Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Cam, "a miscreant trouble maker and a pathological liar with the best laugh you've ever heard and a grin that lets him get away with anything"; and Richard Gardenhire, Jr. as Brooklyn, "who's jarringly smart and well-spoken for a toddler." CARRIE (FX, New!) - Stephen King's iconic horror novel is being eyed for a limited series adaptation at the cable channel. MGM Television is behind the project, with telekinetic teen Carrie White "likely be played by either a trans performer or an actress of color rather than a cis white woman, as in past adaptations." No auspices were given. (Collider.com)
DAVE (A.K.A. LIL DICKY PROJECT) (FXX) - The Dave Burd-led comedy, about a suburban neurotic man in his late twenties who has convinced himself that he's destined to be one of the best rappers of all time, has cast Taylor Misiak as Dave's girlfiend Ally; Andrew Santino as Dave's roommate Mike; GaTa as a heightened version of himself; Travis Bennett as Dave's childhood friend Elz; and Christine Ko as Ally's roommate Emma. The project will bow on FXX in March. (Deadline.com)
FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (AMC) - Zoe Colletti has joined the cast of the upcoming sixth season while Mo Collins's Sarah and Colby Hollman's Wes have been promoted to series regulars. Details on Colletti's character were not given. (Deadline.com)
GOOD FIGHT, THE (CBSAA) - Zach Grenier is joining the cast of the show's fourth season where he'll reprise his "The Good Wife" role of David Lee on a series regular basis. (TVLine.com)
MADE FOR LOVE (HBO Max) - Raymond Lee has snagged a recurring role on the Alissa Nutting adaptation as Jeff, "an environmental activist and Twin Sands local who went to high school with Hazel." (Deadline.com)
MOSS LANDING (ABC, New!) - Lee Shipman has scored a script commitment with a penalty attached from the Alphabet to a new drama "set in a small Florida coastal town, and follows Marion James, a disgraced country star, and Sky Miller, an African-American gospel and soul singer in a sweeping love story." Lee Daniels Entertainment's Lee Daniels and Marc Velez; CuzBro's Brian Kelley; and Stephen Snedden and Justin Halliwell will also executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
SWEETBITTER (Starz) - The pay channel has pulled the plug on the comedy series after two seasons. (THR.com)
UNTITLED TONE BELL PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Tone Bell ("Fam") is back in business with the Eye for a new multi-camera project in which "after a pregnancy scare, a carefree thirty-something decides he's ready to settle down and tries to change his life so he can go from Mr. Right Now to Mr. Right." Craig Gerard and Matt Zinman are penning the half-hour from a story by Bell with director Richie Keen and A Bird and a Bear Productions' Cedric the Entertainer and Eric Rhone also executive producing for CBS Television Studios.
