ANIMAL KINGDOM (TNT) - Rigo Sanchez - who recurred as Manny, the leader of a group of career criminals, last season - will be a regular on the show's upcoming fifth season. (Deadline.com)
BIG SKY, THE (ABC) - Dedee Pfeiffer is the latest addition to David E. Kelley's straight-to-series drama as Denise Brisbane, "the brash office manager at P.I. firm Hoyt and Dewell who does her best to keep the peace amongst her colleagues while simultaneously exemplifying someone you wouldn't want to mess with. She's part psychologist, part Den Mother, and always the biggest presence in the room." (Deadline.com)
CALL ME KAT (FOX) - Kyla Pratt has boarded the Mayim Bialik-led comedy as Randi, "a hip, confident millennial who was named Louisville's top barista four years in a row. Randi works at the café despite having no interest in cats. As someone who juggles multiple suitors, Randi encourages Kat to adopt a new approach to dating." (Deadline.com)
CALL MY AGENT! (Netflix) - Aurélien Larger and Harold Valentin of Mother Production have revealed the fourth season of their French drama will be its last. "With these characters, we feel we've told what needed to be told," said Valentin. "Rather than do something like 'The Good Wife' where we split the team and create an antagonist or enemy, we are happy with what we're doing. It's the right time to close the show." (Variety.com)
DAISY JONES & THE SIX (Amazon) - The network's adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid's novel has cast Nabiyah Be as Simone Jackson, "Daisy's closest friend and fellow musician who unexpectedly finds herself at the forefront of the underground disco scene of the mid 1970s"; Will Harrison as Graham Dunne, "Billy's little brother whose desire to form a band ignites the spark that takes them all from small town Pittsburgh boys to the top of the charts"; Suki Waterhouse as Karen Sirko, "a true original and one of the first women in the overwhelmingly male world of rock and roll"; and Josh Whitehouse as Eddie Roundtree, "fiery bassist of The Six who can't seem to shake the chip on his shoulder that comes from being in someone else's band." (Deadline.com)
HOLZER FILES, THE (Travel Channel) - Showrunner Rob Saffi has signed an overall deal with production company Painless Productions. (Deadline.com)
HOME ECONOMICS (ABC) - Michael Colton and John Aboud's single-camera comedy has found a new home at the Alphabet and ABC Studios where it has received a pilot order. The Lionsgate Television-based project is about three adult siblings: one in the 1 percent, one middle-class, and one barely holding on. Kim and Eric Tannenbaum of The Tannenbaum Company will also executive produce with Jason Wang as a co-executive producer. Said auspices originally sold the concept to FOX in 2018. (Deadline.com)
LUCIFER (Netflix) - Netflix is reportedly in talks with Warner Bros. Television to extend the series beyond the previously announced fifth and "final" season. (TVLine.com)
MIGHTY DUCKS, THE (Disney+) - Swayam Bhatia, Taegen Burns, Julee Cerda, Bella Higginbotham, Luke Islam, Kiefer O'Reilly, Maxwell Simkins and De'Jon Watts will join the previously announced Lauren Graham, Brady Noon and Emilio Estevez in the sequel TV series. No details about their characters were given. (Deadline.com)
MORE HAPPY THAN NOT (HBO Max, New!) - Adam Silvera's bestselling YA novel is being developed for TV by the streaming service. Entertainment One-based Creative Engine Entertainment is behind the proposed drama project with Silvera and Drew Comins executive producing. The search is underway for a writer and director. Its logline: "Sixteen-year-old Aaron Soto is struggling to find happiness since his father's suicide - but he's gunning for it. With the help of his girlfriend Genevieve and his overworked mom, he's slowly remembering what it might feel like. But grief and the scar on his wrist keep him from forgetting the past completely. When Genevieve leaves for a couple weeks, Aaron spends all his time hanging out with this new guy, Thomas. Aaron's crew notices, and they're not exactly thrilled. Since Aaron can't stay away from Thomas or turn off his feelings for him, he turns to the Leteo institute's revolutionary memory-alteration procedure to straighten himself out, even if it means forgetting who he truly is." (Deadline.com)
ON THE VERGE (Netflix) - Elisabeth Shue has joined Julie Delpy's upcoming drama, about four female friends in their late forties, as a co-lead and an executive producer. No specifics about her character were given. Michael Gentile and Lauraine Heftler of The Film TV; Rola Bauer of Studiocanal; and Olivier Gauriat of Barnstormer also executive produce for Canal+ and Netflix. (Deadline.com)
REBEL (ABC) - James Lesure has been cast in the Katey Sagal-led drama pilot as Benji, "a corporate lawyer who was Rebel's second husband, and he is Cassidy's father and Lana's brother. A polished man, Benji is still welcome in Rebel's life - but he knows that he'll always get lambasted for siding with the fat cats instead of suffering humanity." (Deadline.com)
SEE (Apple TV+) - Adrian Paul is bound for the show's second season as Lord Harlan, "the ruler of the strongest city in the kingdom." (Deadline.com)
SWIMMING WITH SHARKS (Quibi) - Thomas Dekker, Finn Jones and Donald Sutherland are bound for the Kiernan Shipka/Diane Kruger-led series. Dekker will play Travis, "one of Joyce's assistants"; with Jones as Marty, "Joyce's vp production, who's also a victim of chronic verbal abuse"; and Sutherland as Redmond, "the very ill chairman of Fountain Pictures, a studio founded by his grandfather."
