BIG SKY, THE (ABC) - Katheryn Winnick is set to star in the David E. Kelley-produced drama series, in which "private detective Cassie Dewell partners with ex-cop Jenny Hoyt (Winnick) on a search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. When they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken." In addition, Paul McGuigan has been confirmed as directing and executive producing alongside Kelley, C.J. Box, Ross Fineman and Matthew Gross. (Deadline.com)
BLOOD RELATIVE (FOX) - Tyrone Marshall Brown is the latest addition to the drama pilot as Brick Doughty, "a homicide detective and John Kelly's (Tate Donovan) partner. A bit of a wiseass, when he and John catch a rough case, the suicide of a man everyone thought was murdered twenty years ago, it's Brick's idea to take the case to Lou, John's genius if idiosyncratic sister. Is it altruism, or is Brick trying to stay a step ahead of the game?" (Deadline.com)
CLAWS (TNT) - Juliet Landau will recur on the upcoming season as Cordelia, "a socialite in the community and protective of her father's wealth." (Deadline.com)
GOLIATH (Amazon) - Haley Joel Osment, Jena Malone and Clara Wong are the latest addition to the show's final season. Osment plays Dylan Zax, "described as the weakest link in the Zax family and someone who isn't the brightest or the most ambitious"; with Malone as Samantha Margolis, "the managing partner and de facto head of the white-shoe law firm Margolis & True and the daughter of one of the founding partners"; and Wong as Kate Zax, "a dedicated chemist for the family business - one of the nation's largest pharmaceutical companies." LA BREA (NBC) - Chiké Okonkwo, Caleb Ruminer, Jag Bal, Angel Parker, Catherine Dent and Veronica St. Clair and have all scored roles on the high-concept drama pilot. Okonkwo will play "a troubled and suicidal survivor trapped underground"; with Ruminer as Josh Wolcott, "Claire and Gavin's son"; Bal as Scott Hasan, "a well-meaning guy who is a survivor in the sinkhole"; Parker as "a renowned geologist who is a leading expert on sinkholes"; Dent as Jessica Wolcott, "Gavin's older sister and a high-powered attorney"; and St. Clair as Riley Glass, "Dr. Glass' daughter and a high achiever." MITCHCRAFT (Amazon, New!) - Steve Franks has sold a hybrid comedy series to the streaming service which "follows a small town fire marshal who realizes he may have inadvertently harnessed the power of the Supernatural and become, for lack of a better term, a witch." Chris Henze of Thruline Entertainment and Brad Fuller and Andrew Form of Fully Formed Entertainment will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
NIGHT SCHOOL (NBC) - Shanola Hampton has booked the female lead on the film-turned-comedy pilot as Carrie Dawes, "a high school teacher who doesn't suffer fools and takes no prisoners." Said role was played by Tiffany Haddish in the movie. (Deadline.com)
ONE DAY AT A TIME (Pop) - Marla Gibbs and Reggie Watts will drop by the show's Halloween themed episode as "new neighbors in the building whose apartments Elena and Syd visit for trick-or-treating." (Variety.com)
OTHER TWO, THE (Comedy Central) - Tony Award nominee Gideon Glick is bound for the new season as Jess, "the new boyfriend of Cary (Drew Tarver). Jess is described as a laid back guy who seems very into Cary and very able to roll with the punches." (Deadline.com)
SPECIAL (Netflix) - Max Jenkins will recur on the show's sophomore run as Tanner, "a new romantic interest for Ryan, who is played by the show's creator, Ryan O'Connell." (Deadline.com)
TRIAGE (ABC) - David Cornue's long-in-the-works medical drama has found a new home at ABC where it has received a second-cycle pilot order. The project originated at FOX in 2017 with Ilene Chaiken penning the script. A second stab was made the following year at the network under Zoanne Clack. 20th Century Fox Television since took the project to ABC, adding Erica Messer Productions' Erica Messer and director Jon M. Chu as executive producers. Said incarnation will follow "a pioneering surgeon, Finley Briar, over three distinct decades at the same hospital. With the evolution of medicine as the backdrop, the show explores the interconnected careers, friendships and romances of Finley and her colleagues and their tenuous relationship with time." Caitlin Foito and OutEast Entertainment's Steven Marrs and Courtney Hazlett will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
UNDERGROUND RAILROAD, THE (Amazon) - Fred Hechinger has been cast in the Barry Jenkins-produced drama as Young Ridgeway, "the younger version of the character portrayed by Joel Edgerton." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED AKIN OMOTOSO PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - The streaming service has commissioned its first Nigerian original, a six-part series which "tells the story of Kemi, a goddess reincarnated as a human to avenge her sister's death. But first, she must learn how to use and harness her superpowers to defeat her enemies and save her family from destruction." Kate Henshaw and Ade Laoye star in the project, from director Akin Omotoso and Rififi Pictures. Daniel Oriahi and C.J. Obasi will also helm installments. No other auspices were given. (Deadline.com)
WALKER (The CW) - Molly Hagan has scored a role on the "Walker, Texas Ranger" reboot series as Abeline Walker, "Walker's (Jared Padalecki) mother, an unstoppable force of nature. Abeline is a third generation Texas rancher. Smart and perceptive, she always puts the family first and never hesitates to give advice whether asked for or not." (Deadline.com)
WECRASHED (Apple TV+, New!) - Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello are set to team for a limited series adaptation of the hit Wondery podcast WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork, which "documents the rise and fall of WeWork, the New York-headquartered commercial real estate company that provides shared workspaces for technology startups and other services." Wondery's Hernan Lopez, Marshall Lewy and Aaron Hart will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
