CALL ME KAT (FOX) - Leslie Jordan has joined the cast of the Mayim Bialik-led comedy as Phil, who works for Kat (Bialik) and bakes all the pastries at the cat cafe. Kat is helping Phil get a new lease on life after his recent breakup with his longtime partner. The show's official logline is as follows: "Kat (Mayim Bialik - The Big Bang Theory) is a 39-year-old woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that you can NOT have everything you want - and still be happy. Which is why she spent her life savings to open a Cat Café in Louisville, Kentucky." BBC Studios, Sad Clown Productions, That's Wonderful Productions, FOX Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television are the producers.
CONNERS, THE (ABC) - Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Lecy Goranson have closed new deals to return for a 19-episode third season, putting the series on track for renewal. Producer Werner Entertainment is in talks with ABC on a license-fee deal which would trigger a pickup. (Deadline.com)
PRETTY THINGS (Amazon, New!) - Amazon Studios is developing a small screen take on Janelle Brown's upcoming thriller with Nicole Kidman set to star and Reed Morano attached to direct. The book "tells the story of two brilliant, but damaged women try to survive a game of deceit and destruction. When a reluctant grifter befriends a wealthy "influencer" on the shores of Lake Tahoe, her ultimate con devolves into a raw, treacherous game of long-awaited payback." Brown herself will pen the script and executive produce alongside Morano and Blossom Films' Kidman and Per Saari. (Deadline.com)
SOCIETY, THE (Netflix) - Olivia Nikkanen's Gwen has been promoted to regular for the series' second season. (Deadline.com)
SUPERMAN & LOIS (The CW) - Dylan Walsh has been tapped to play Samuel Lane in the straight-to-series drama, "a no-nonsense Army general who's determined to keep America, and the world, safe from all threats - from this world or beyond. Lane's a workaholic who demands nothing but excellence from all those in his life." Glenn Morshower most recently played the role on sibling series "Supergirl" from 2015-16. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JEFF DAVIS PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Jeff Davis is developing a one-hour animated drama at the network, details of which are being kept under wraps. FOX Entertainment and Bento Box Entertainment are behind the project, the result of his broadcast-only overall deal with the network. (Variety.com)
UNTITLED OBI-WAN KENOBI SERIES (Disney+) - Joby Harold has been tapped to take over as writer of the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. He'll assume said duties from Hossein Amini, who left the project back in January. Deborah Chow remains attached to direct. (Variety.com)
